METALLICA: PLUGINZ Milks Cliff Burton’s Corpse for Cash with Useless Jack Rack Collection

Cliff

Alright, buckle up, metalheads (and metal-adjacent folks who accidentally clicked on this)! ๐Ÿค˜ Pluginz, those masterminds of musical merchandise, are BACK with a Cliff Burton x Jack Rack collection! ๐ŸŽธ Yes, you heard that right. Because what every true metal fan NEEDS is a key holder endorsed by a dead bassist.๐Ÿ’€ I mean, who wouldn’t want to immortalize the legendary Cliff Burton by hanging their car keys on his face? ๐Ÿ”‘ It’s available on thejackrack.com, because that’s totally a real and important website, with a broader rollout coming soon via Amazon and select retailers. Get ready to empty your wallets, folks! ๐Ÿ’ธ

The collection is centered around a custom-designed Jack Rack wall-mounted key holder. It features Cliff’s signature style and a powerful red-and-black design titled “The Major Rager.” ๐Ÿค” “Major Rager”? Sounds like my last Tuesday night. Built using authentic amp hardware, this functional collectible lets you plug in and hang up your keys. Because nothing screams “metal” like pretending your keys are a guitar.๐ŸŽธ I bet Cliff would have loved this. Probably would have used it to hang his bassโ€ฆ if he were still, you knowโ€ฆ around. โšฐ๏ธ

“Cliff Burton changed the game,” says Mike Stricklin, founder and CEO of Pluginz. “We wanted this Jack Rack to feel like a tribute and a time capsule โ€” something fans can see every day and remember the sound that shook the world.” ๐ŸŒ Oh, Mike, you’re so poetic! ๐Ÿ˜ญ A time capsule? More like a time-waster. I mean, seriously, who’s gonna look at a key holder and suddenly be transported back to the glory days of thrash metal? ๐Ÿ™„ But hey, at least it’s a tribute. A tribute to consumerism! ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

Each Jack Rack purchase includes four guitar plug keychains and a wall mounting kit. So you can lose your keys AND have tiny guitars mocking you. ๐Ÿคฃ You can also customize your Jack Rack with additional magnetic faceplates. Because nothing says “I’m a dedicated fan” like slapping a different face on your key holder every week. ๐ŸŽญ Collect them all! Trade them with your friends! Start a Cliff Burton key holder cult! โ›ช

This collection follows Pluginz’s recent drops with MEGADETH and Ozzy Osbourne, cementing the brand as a go-to destination for metal fans and collectors everywhere. Because nothing says “metal” like buying mass-produced merchandise. ๐Ÿค˜ I’m sure Dave Mustaine and Ozzy are thrilled to be associated with key holders. Probably using them to hang their platinum records. ๐Ÿ’ฟ

Follow Pluginz on LinkedIn and @pluginzkeychains on Instagram for updates, behind-the-scenes peeks, and more product reveals. ๐Ÿ“ธ Because nothing’s more metal than corporate synergy and social media marketing. ๐Ÿคณ I can’t wait to see what they come up with next! A Lars Ulrich drumstick toothbrush holder? A James Hetfield microphone stand toilet paper dispenser? The possibilities are endless! ๐Ÿšฝ

Cliff was asked to join METALLICA in 1982 after the band saw him perform with his group at the time, TRAUMA. The bassist was not willing to move to Los Angeles, where METALLICA was based, so they decided to move to the San Francisco area so that he would join. And the rest, as they say, is history. A history that’s now being monetized through key holders. ๐Ÿ’ฐ

Burton played on METALLICA’s first three studio albums โ€” “Kill ‘Em All”, “Ride The Lightning” and “Master Of Puppets” โ€” and co-wrote classic songs like “Ride The Lightning”, “For Whom The Bell Tolls”, “Fade To Black”, “Creeping Death” and “Master Of Puppets”. All songs you can now listen to while hanging your keys on a Cliff Burton key holder. ๐Ÿ”‘ How meta! ๐Ÿคฏ

Burton’s initial replacement in the group was Jason Newsted, who stayed in the lineup until 2001. Robert Trujillo joined in 2003 and remains in the band to this day. But let’s be real, no one can replace Cliff. Except maybe with a key holder. ๐Ÿค”

February 10, 2018 was proclaimed “Cliff Burton Day” by Alameda County supervisors. The late METALLICA bassist would have turned 56 years old on that date had he lived. And now, every day can be Cliff Burton Day, thanks to Pluginz! ๐ŸŽ‰ Just buy a key holder and celebrate his legacy every time you leave the house. ๐Ÿ

Burton died in a tragic tour bus accident in 1986. A tragedy that’s now being capitalized on. ๐Ÿ’ธ But hey, at least his memory lives on. In the form of a key holder. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Cliff’s huge talent and achievements were chronicled in book form with the 2009 global publication of “To Live Is To Die: The Life And Death Of Metallica’s Cliff Burton”, written by U.K.-based author Joel McIver and published by Jawbone Press. The foreword was provided by METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett. So, you can either read a book about Cliff Burton, or buy a key holder. The choice is yours! ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ”‘
