OMG! 😱 Calling Resident Evil Requiem “one of the most anticipated games” is a HUGE stretch. 🙄 After EIGHT years of… “evolving” gameplay? More like devolving into a dumpster fire 🔥 of action-packed nonsense. But hey, Capcom’s trying to win back the “survival horror” crowd by pretending they remember what made the old games good. At gamescom 2025, they showed a 20-minute demo… which is basically like showing the trailer for a turd and expecting us to think it’s gold. 💩 I couldn’t be less excited. 😴
The demo throws you into the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center – sounds thrilling, right? 🧓👵 Our “hero,” FBI technical analyst Grace Ashcroft (never heard of her), got kidnapped. Classic RE plot! 🤦♀️ And guess what? You’re not a super-soldier anymore. You’re “vulnerable.” Like we haven’t seen that before… 🙄 It’s not like Resident Evil 4, where you could karate-kick zombies into oblivion. Nope, this is “serious” now. 🙄🙄🙄 Get ready to be terrified by… something. Maybe. If you’re easily scared. 👻
Grace is related to someone from Resident Evil Outbreak (who cares?). Apparently, this is supposed to “tie together the wider universe.” 🤔 More like tie together a bunch of loose ends that should’ve been left forgotten. 🗑️ The demo is short because they probably didn’t want to reveal how boring the rest of the game is. It’s “unsettling” and will “make you jump.” Yeah, just like my cat when I accidentally step on its tail. 😹
Visually “stunning”? Please. This is 2025, people! If a game doesn’t look amazing, it’s a failure. 🙅♀️ They’re flexing their RTX 5090… like anyone can afford that. 💸 Grace’s performance conveys “emotion and fear.” 🙄 Give me a break. It’s a video game character. When she pulls a needle from her arm, it’s “unsettlingly precise.” Okay, now you’re just trying too hard. 🙄🙄🙄
“Resident Evil Requiem is a visually stunning game that captures the franchise’s universe in gruesome detail. Even in the brief demo, I got a strong sense of its tone, visual design, and how its characters are brought to life.” – Said no one ever.
You can switch between first and third-person perspectives? Groundbreaking! 👏 This will “drastically alter the experience.” Translation: it’s a gimmick to distract you from the mediocre gameplay. 🤡
The “real star” is the unnamed stalker enemy. Oh boy, another Nemesis/Mr. X/Lady D wannabe. 🙄 This one can crawl through walls and ceilings. So original! ✨ It’s “intelligent” and “adapts to player behavior.” Yeah, like every other AI in modern games. It’s “stressful.” Sure, if you’re five years old. 👶
Improved stealth mechanics? Finally! 🎉 So now, instead of shooting zombies, you can… hide from them. Thrilling! 😴 You can use environmental cover and shadows. Wow, never seen that before. 🙄 The lighter is a “risk-reward” dynamic. 💡 Use it to see, but the monster might see you! 😱😱😱 So deep.
Environmental interaction is “vital.” 🧱 You can break stuff and use it as a weapon. OMG! 🤯 This is “a welcome addition.” More like a desperate attempt to add something new to a tired formula. 😴😴😴
The world feels “fully realized.” 🌍 Really? It’s a haunted hospital. How many times have we seen that? 🏥 The “heightened interactivity” makes it more intense. It probably will be more intense than watching paint dry. 🎨
Puzzles are “integrated more closely into the narrative.” They’re probably just fetch quests disguised as brainteasers. 🧩 The demo follows classic survival horror logic: find A, unlock B, access C. Revolutionary! 🚀
The RE Engine is still “evolving.” Probably into a buggy mess. 🐛 The chronic care center is “realistic and deeply unsettling.” Like visiting your grandma’s house. 👵
The game looks good in cutscenes AND gameplay? NO WAY! 🤯🤯🤯 The level of detail is “fantastic.” They probably spent more time on the graphics than the story. 📖➡️🗑️
“Resident Evil Requiem is a return to the terrifying roots of the series, and one I cannot wait to be lost in.” – Said no true Resident Evil fan.
Capcom is “leaning into” the graphics. Because that’s all they have. 🤷♀️ Fans who want horror will “feel right at home.” If their home is a generic, uninspired haunted house. 🏘️➡️👻
The demo is short but “hit all the right notes.” Like a broken piano. 🎹 Scheduled for release on Feb. 27, 2026. Plenty of time for delays and downgrades. 📉 Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. So original! 🎮
Capcom “listened to fans.” Yeah, right. They just want our money. 💸 “Modern design sensibilities” enhance the experience. More like ruin it. 🤦♀️ “Resident Evil Requiem is a return to the terrifying roots of the series.” It is not, and “one I cannot wait to be lost in.” 😴 Please wake me up when it’s over. ⏰
