Vance Blasts Trump Admin's Epic Failure at Basic Transparency

I’m sipping my coffee and reading about Vice President JD Vance’s comments on the Trump administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, and I have to say, it’s been a wild ride. Vance said the administration “absolutely screwed up the comms” around the files and should have released everything immediately. I mean, who wouldn’t want to release a bunch of potentially scandalous documents all at once? It’s not like that would cause any chaos or anything. Vance insisted that the administration wasn’t trying to conceal information, but rather, they just messed up the communication. Okay, sure, because that’s exactly what I want in a government – a bunch of people who can’t even get their story straight.

Vance made these comments on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, because where else would you go to discuss sensitive government information? He said, “I say this with all candor, like we absolutely screwed up the comms of the Epstein files, like we just did.” I’m not sure what’s more surprising, the fact that Vance is admitting to screwing up or the fact that he’s using the phrase “like we just did” in a sentence. Vance also said that he doesn’t think the administration was trying to hide anything, but rather, they just didn’t handle the situation well. Bless their hearts.

The administration has been getting blowback from the president’s own base over the handling of the Epstein files. I mean, it’s not like they’ve been getting criticized from all sides or anything. Vance pointed to then-Attorney General Pam Bondi’s public comments suggesting a purported client list was on her desk, and noted that the binders of information handed out to right-wing social media influencers in February 2025 were “largely documents that were already released.” So, basically, they released a bunch of old information and called it a day. Somewhere in Atlanta, a producer thought this sounded like a great idea.

Vance also talked about the “original sin” of the Epstein investigation, which he said dated back to 2007 and 2008. He faulted former US Attorney Alex Acosta, who negotiated a controversial plea deal with Epstein. I’m not sure what’s more surprising, the fact that Vance is criticizing a former US Attorney or the fact that he’s using the phrase “original sin” to describe a government scandal. Vance argued that if there was a broader conspiracy, the evidence that existed in 2007 was the opportunity to get it out. You can’t make this stuff up, folks.

Vance was also asked about theories that Epstein may have been part of Israel’s Mossad spy agency. Because, you know, that’s exactly what this story needed – more conspiracy theories. Vance said, “Yeah, Mossad or CIA or some other deep state.” I’m not sure what’s more surprising, the fact that Vance is entertaining these theories or the fact that he’s using the phrase “deep state” in a sentence. He added that Epstein clearly had connections to the highest levels of American and Israeli intelligence. Okay, sure, because that’s not a recipe for disaster or anything.

In conclusion, the story of the Trump administration’s handling of the Epstein files is a long and complicated one, full of twists and turns. Vance’s comments on the matter have shed some light on the situation, but they’ve also raised more questions. Ultimately, it seems like the administration messed up the communication around the files, and now they’re trying to clean up the mess. As I finish my coffee and wrap up this article, I’m left with one thought – it’s going to be a long day in politics. And who knows, maybe someday we’ll get to the bottom of the Epstein scandal, but until then, I’ll just be over here, sipping my coffee and shaking my head.
