Oh boy, are you guys ready for some earth-shattering news? 🤯 I mean, I can barely contain my excitement… 😴 Tony Iommi, the legendary guitarist of Black Sabbath, is releasing a solo album called “From The Dark”! 🎸 And, guess what? Jorn Lande, the Norwegian singer, is featured on all eight tracks as a co-writer and vocalist! 🤩 I know, I know, it’s not like we’ve been waiting for this moment our entire lives or anything… 😒
So, what’s the big deal about this album? Well, for starters, it’s been two years in the making, and Jorn Lande is extremely proud to have been a part of it. He even took to social media to express his gratitude to Tony Iommi for the opportunity to work with him. Aww, isn’t that sweet? 🙄 He also thanked producer Mike Exeter for putting up with his “pickiness” and bringing out the best in him. Yeah, because we all know how notoriously difficult Jorn Lande is to work with… 🙄
The Album Details
The album features a star-studded lineup, including drummer Karl Brazil, who has worked with pop icons Robbie Williams and James Blunt, and U.K.-based bassist Becky Baldwin, who is a recent addition to Danish metal veterans Mercyful Fate. Because, you know, what’s a metal album without a little bit of pop influence, right? 🤷♂️ The album will be available in several deluxe vinyl and CD formats, because who doesn’t love a good collector’s item? 🎁
But wait, there’s more! Jorn Lande has a long history with Tony Iommi and the Black Sabbath camp. He even performed with Iommi and other surviving Heaven & Hell members at a tribute to Ronnie James Dio in 2010. And, in 2016, he spoke to The Great Southern Brainfart about the experience, saying that he was grateful for the opportunity to work with them and that they treated him with respect. Aww, group hug! 🤗
The Music
So, what can we expect from the music itself? Well, the first single and video, “World Alone”, is out now, and Jorn Lande is urging everyone to “be prepared to rock!” 🤘 Because, you know, we weren’t already prepared to rock… 🙄 The album features eight tracks, including “Over The Violent Sun”, “Black Times”, and “Legacy”. And, if you’re feeling extra special, you can even get your hands on a deluxe 32-page CD media book edition with two bonus tracks. Because, why settle for just the regular album when you can have more? 🤷♂️
In conclusion, Tony Iommi’s solo album “From The Dark” is finally coming, and Jorn Lande is featured on all eight tracks. Because, you know, the world was just missing a Tony Iommi solo album… 🙄 But hey, who are we to complain? It’s not like we have better things to listen to… 🎧 So, go ahead and get ready to rock… or not. We’ll be over here, waiting for the next big thing in metal… 🤔
