MÖTLEY CRÜE and DOLLY PARTON Team Up to Butcher ‘Home Sweet Home’ in New Collab

DollyParton NikkiSixx 2023

MÖTLEY CRÜE, those purveyors of fine, aged cheese 🧀, are releasing yet ANOTHER compilation album, “From The Beginning”, on September 12 via BMG. Because, you know, the world REALLY needs another collection of the same songs you’ve heard a million times. Prepare to be amazed… or not. 🙄

“From The Beginning” supposedly spans four decades of CRÜE anthems, starting with “Live Wire” (because who doesn’t love reliving the ’80s?) and ending with the earth-shattering “Dogs Of War” (a Top 5 rock smash, allegedly – says who, their moms?). In between, you get the usual suspects: “Kickstart My Heart” (still kicking, apparently), “Dr. Feelgood” (more like Dr. Fill-my-wallet, amirite?), “Girls, Girls, Girls” (because objectification never gets old! 🙄), “Shout at the Devil” (more like whisper at your therapist), “Smokin’ In The Boys Room” (still smokin’ something, I guess), “Wild Side” (of Depends, maybe?) and many more. But the REAL kicker? A “stunning new version” of “Home Sweet Home” with Dolly Parton. Yes, you read that right. Dolly. Parton. With Mötley Crüe. What a time to be alive… or maybe not. 🤦‍♀️

The CD version has 19 tracks, while the vinyl (for all you hipsters) has 21, including “Afraid” and “Cancelled”. Because nothing screams “classic rock” like songs from last year’s EP. 🙄

CD track listing:

01. Live Wire
02. Take Me To The Top (of irrelevance?)
03. Shout At The Devil [remastered – 2021] (because the original wasn’t loud enough?)
04. Looks That Kill [remastered – 2021] (still?)
05. Too Young To Fall In Love [remastered – 2021] (but not too old to cash in)
06. Smokin’ In The Boys Room [remastered – 2021] (still?)
07. Home Sweet Home [remastered – 2021] (for the 87th time)
08. Girls, Girls, Girls
09. Wild Side
10. Dr. Feelgood
11. Without You (the world would be better?)
12. Kickstart My Heart
13. Don’t Go Away Mad (Just Go Away) (please?)
14. Same Ol’ Situation (S.O.S.) (same ol’ cash grab)
15. Primal Scream (from boredom?)
16. The Dirt (Est. 1981) (and still clinging to it)
17. Saints of Los Angeles (citation needed)
18. Dogs Of War (woof)
19. Home Sweet Home (feat. Dolly Parton) (the apocalypse is nigh)

Apparently, Nikki Sixx and John 5 were on Dolly Parton‘s “Rockstar” album. Because why not? 🤷‍♂️

“Bygones”, featuring Rob Halford, topped the Mediabase Classic Rock Songs chart. Because classic rock fans have questionable taste. 👴👵

John 5 replaced Mick Mars because Mick’s health is failing. But hey, at least the Crüe can still tour and make money! 💰

The “Cancelled” EP features a cover of the BEASTIE BOYS. Because nothing says “we’re still relevant” like covering a song from the ’80s. 🙄

They’re working with Big Machine again, after that country tribute album. Remember that? No? Me neither. 😴

Their last studio album was 2008. Let that sink in. 🕰️

In 2018, they recorded new songs for “The Dirt” movie. Including a song with Machine Gun Kelly. The horror. 😱
