Oasis Milks (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? for 30th Anniversary Cash Grab

Oasis, those purveyors of slightly-above-average Britpop, have announced details of deluxe formats of (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? to celebrate the album landmark’s 30-year anniversary. Yes, 30 years! Feel old yet?👴🏻 We sure do! 👵🏻

Apparently, this album is considered one of the all-time era-defining great rock albums. 😂 Sure, Jan. It’s just Oasis’ second LP, originally unleashed on 2 October 1995 on Creation Records, which propelled them to global “success.” Following just 14 months after their debut Definitely Maybe, (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? won Best British Album at the 1996 BRIT Awards. Because, you know, there was nothing else good that year. 🙄

This cash grab… I mean, special anniversary format, follows last summer’s release of the 30th Anniversary Edition of Definitely Maybe. Because one reissue wasn’t enough, apparently. This one features new unplugged versions of Cast No Shadow, Morning Glory, Wonderwall, Acquiesce and Champagne Supernova. Because what the world really needs is more acoustic versions of songs we’ve all heard a million times. 😴

These “new” unplugged versions were produced and mixed by Noel Gallagher and Callum Marinho from the original master recordings at Noel’s studio, Lone Star Sound, in London. So, basically, they just took the old songs and removed the electric guitars. Groundbreaking. 🤯

Listen to the new interpretation of Acquiesce below. But don’t say we didn’t warn you. ⚠️

All Your Dreams Are Made (of Money)

The deluxe album features new artwork shot by original sleeve designer Brian Cannon and new sleeve notes. Because who doesn’t love reading about how great Oasis thinks they are? 🙄 Exclusive coloured vinyl formats will be available, including indie record store exclusive Cast No Shadow inspired Crystal Clear 3LP, HMV Morning Glory inspired blue marble 3LP, Amazon Exclusive Wonderwall inspired sepia marble 3LP, and official store exclusive Acquiesce inspired neon orange 3LP. Collect them all! Gotta catch ’em all! 🤑 All formats will include the 2014 remastered version of the album alongside the new bonus versions. Because why not repackage the same stuff over and over? ♻️

The announcement comes as Oasis commence the most sought-after tour on the planet this year with their Live 25 tour. Or, you know, Liam Gallagher singing Oasis songs without Noel. Unprecedented demand for tickets further underlines the ever-growing appeal of their music, with fans from 158 different countries applying for tickets to the UK shows when they went on sale last summer. Probably bots. 🤖

The global tour commences at Cardiff Principality Stadium on Friday, before heading to Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin in the UK, and then continuing worldwide. Get ready for Liam to butcher those high notes! 🎤
