FX, in its infinite wisdom (or maybe they lost a bet 🤷♂️), has greenlit an anthology TV show based on Ubisoft’s *groundbreaking* 🙄 Far Cry series. Because, you know, what the world REALLY needs is ANOTHER video game adaptation that will DEFINITELY not disappoint. Each season, like the games (if you can even remember them), will feature a new exotic locale and a fresh batch of totally-not-cardboard characters. Catch FX’s Far Cry on Hulu if you’re in the US, and Disney+ internationally, because apparently everyone needs a dose of generic action.
This stroke of genius comes from FX overlords Rob Mac, the mastermind behind *It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia* (which peaked like, ten seasons ago), and Noah Hawley, the guy who brought us *Fargo* and is now trying to milk the anthology cow dry. Mac will also star in the series because why not? Double-dipping at its finest, folks! 🤑
“We’re SOOOO thrilled to be working with Rob and Noah, who together have given us, like, a million seasons of TV,” gushed Nick Grad, President of FX Entertainment (probably sweating bullets about the budget). “I’m sure they’ll spin this tale in a way that’s *totally* original and not at all derivative. And thanks to Ubisoft for letting us play with their… IP.” 🙏
“Working with Noah is, like, my biggest dream EVER!” exclaimed Mac, probably already counting his millions. “Ubisoft has been super chill, letting us ruin their beloved franchise. And FX is still paying me, which is a miracle!” ✨
“The beauty of Far Cry is that it’s an anthology, just like my brilliant *Fargo*,” Hawley proclaimed, clearly suffering from a severe case of self-importance. “We’ll explore the human condition through the lens of explosions and bad guys. It’s gonna be… something, I guess.” 💥
Executive producing this train wreck are Rob Mac, Noah Hawley, Emilia Serrano, Nick Frenkel, Jackie Cohn, John Campisi, and a whole bunch of Ubisoft suits who are probably praying this doesn’t tarnish their brand. FX Productions is footing the bill, so blame them when it inevitably flops. 📉
