The official music video for “Asleep On The Killing Floor” by CORROSION OF CONFORMITY is out, and we’re not sure what’s more impressive – the song or the fact that we didn’t fall asleep while watching it 😴👀. The track comes from their new double album “Good God / Baad Man”, which is being released today, because Fridays are for new music, duh 📆🎸! The clip was created by Mike Holderbeast, who probably had to drink a lot of coffee to stay awake during the editing process ☕️.
Produced by Grammy Award winner Warren Riker (FUGEES, DOWN, CATHEDRAL), because who needs sleep when you have a Grammy 🏆, and featuring cover art by famed New Orleans artist Scott Guion, “Good God / Baad Man” was recorded at various studios, including Blak Shak Studios in Riffissippi, USA, Dockside Studios in Maurice, Louisiana, and BEE GEES legend Barry Gibb’s home studio in Miami, Florida 🌴. We’re pretty sure they had to import some coffee beans to keep everyone awake during the recording process 🚀.
To promote “Good God / Baad Man”, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY will embark on a North American headlining tour with support from WHORES and CROBOT, because who doesn’t love a good tour 🚌🤘? The band’s latest additions are bassist Bobby “Rock” Landgraf and drummer Nick Shabatura, who are probably the most awake members of the band at this point 🤣.
In an interview, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY guitarist and founding member Woody Weatherman said that Bobby joined the group because they were buddies, and he’s a great musician, and they get along, and they’re all road dogs, and… zzz… sorry, what was the question again 🤔? Oh right, Bobby. So, Woody said that Bobby’s a great friend, and they know he’s a fantastic musician, and his main instrument’s a guitar, but he’s pretty prolific on that four-string too 🎸.
Woody also mentioned that Shabatura is gonna be the touring drummer for CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, and he’s a fellow from Chicago who was recommended by Charlie Benante (ANTHRAX and PANTERA drummer), because who needs sleep when you have a good drummer 🥁? Shabatura has previously played with DESECRATE THE HOUR and the Chicago-based NIRVANA tribute band SMELLS LIKE NIRVANA, because who doesn’t love a good tribute band 🎸?
This past March, Stanton Moore gave Shabatura’s addition to CORROSION OF CONFORMITY his blessing, writing on social media: “I approve this message! I went by rehearsals in Riffississippi the other day to meet and hang with Nick. He is an amazing drummer and a super cool guy 🤩.” And we’re pretty sure he didn’t fall asleep while writing that 📱.
CORROSION OF CONFORMITY’s first four albums left a permanent mark on headbangers, longhairs, and street punks everywhere, and we’re not sure what’s more impressive – the music or the fact that people still have hair 🤣. By the time CORROSION OF CONFORMITY carved off “No Cross No Crown” nearly a quarter century later, they were legends in their own time, revered by two generations of punk, metal, and rock fans 🙌.
So, if you’re still awake after reading this, congratulations 🎉! You can check out the new music video for “Asleep On The Killing Floor” below, and try to stay awake while watching it 😴👀. And if you’re feeling tired, just remember – CORROSION OF CONFORMITY is on tour, and they’ll probably bring some coffee with them ☕️🚌. 🤘💤
