Oh boy, are you guys ready for some news that will totally not change your life at all? 🙄 TRIVIUM, the band that has been around for like, forever, is working on a new album. I know, I know, it’s not like you were just sitting around twiddling your thumbs waiting for this announcement or anything. The band’s bassist Paolo Gregoletto and guitarist Corey Beaulieu spoke to Metalshop TV about the upcoming LP, which is tentatively due out in late 2026 or early 2027. Because, you know, who needs a firm release date, right? 🤷♂️
According to Corey, the album is still in the “in-between stage” where there’s no official release date yet, because, you know, record label stuff. Yeah, that’s a thing. The band has been working on it for a while, and they’re just waiting for the perfect moment to drop it. You know, like a fine wine or a moldy cheese. 🧀
The New Album: A Game-Changer or More of the Same?
Paolo said that the new material is going to be “really cool” and that people will be “surprised”. Oh, I’m shaking with anticipation. 🤯 He also mentioned that having new drummer Alex Rüdinger (formerly of WHITECHAPEL) on board has brought a new “X factor” to the band. Because, you know, changing drummers is always a great way to mix things up. 🥁
But seriously, Paolo said that the band has put a lot of time and effort into the new album, and they’re trying to make the best songs possible. Wow, what a unique and not-at-all-cliché goal. 🙄 He also mentioned that they’re trying to “elevate” their sound, whatever that means. Maybe they’re going to start using more synthesizers or something. 🎸
The Five-Year Wait: Was it Worth it?
It’s been five whole years since TRIVIUM’s last album, “In The Court Of The Dragon”. I mean, it’s not like they’ve been touring non-stop or anything. 🚌 Corey said that the band did two records in a year before that, and then COVID happened, and, you know, schedules got messed up. Yeah, that’s a thing that happened to everyone, not just TRIVIUM. 🙄
But anyway, Corey said that the band is excited to finally release some new music, and they have a lot of cool stuff planned to make the release special. Oh boy, I can barely contain my excitement. 🎉 They’re going to do some “fun stuff” and maybe even play some shows. Wow, what a thrilling prospect. 🎸
In conclusion, TRIVIUM is working on a new album, and it’s going to be “really cool” and “surprising”.
