Night at the Museum: More Like Day of the Same Old Crud

MCDNIAT FE018 H 2025

Oh, great, another reboot! 🙄 Because Hollywood is just overflowing with original ideas, right? 20th Century Studios is apparently so creatively bankrupt they’re resurrecting Night at the Museum. Prepare yourselves for more CGI shenanigans and historical figures acting goofy. 🤣

Yes, you heard it right. They’re making ANOTHER movie based on the comedy series where artifacts come alive. Because the first four weren’t enough to drill that concept into our skulls. 21 Laps Entertainment (whoever they are) hired Tripper Clancy (seriously, that’s his name?) to write the script. I’m sure it will be a comedic masterpiece. ✍️

Shawn Levy and Dan Levine will produce for 21 Laps, with Emily Morris overseeing the flick, Deadline reports. Who are these people? Are they even trying to make something good or just trying to cash in on nostalgia? 💰

Remember Ben Stiller, the king of awkward comedy? He starred as Larry Daley, the night guard who somehow couldn’t tell that a T-Rex skeleton moving wasn’t normal. He’s not coming back this time, because apparently, even HE has standards! 😂

The first film, Night at the Museum, was released in 2006, and grossed $574.5 million. People actually paid to see this? Seriously? The late Robin Williams played Theodore Roosevelt, bless his soul. He deserved better than being digitally resurrected in a kids’ movie. 🙏

And who could forget Owen Wilson and Ricky Gervais? Two comedic geniuses who clearly needed a paycheck. And Mickey Rooney? Brad Garrett? Dick Van Dyke? Rami Malek? What a random collection of actors. 🎭

Stiller returned for 2009’s Battle of the Smithsonian and 2014’s Secret of the Tomb. Because milking a dead horse is always a good idea. 🐴

And then they tried to sneak in an animated sequel, Kahmunrah Rises Again, in 2022. Did anyone even notice? Probably not. 🤷

The film follows Nick Daley, the son of Larry Daley, as he becomes a night guard at the Museum of Natural History. So, basically, the same plot as the first movie, but with a different actor. How original! 💯

The voice cast included Joshua Bassett, Jamie Demetriou, Gillian Jacobs and Zachary Levi. I’m sure they’re all thrilled to be part of this groundbreaking cinematic achievement. 🥳

Stiller, 59, is fond of the franchise and previously admitted the first film appealed to the kid in me. Yeah, well, some of us grew up, Ben. 🙄

He told Cineworld.co.uk: What happens when the museum closes at night? What would happen if everything came to life? I thought that the answers would be a really cool movie to see. Some of us are hoping that Hollywood will close at night, and we get some new ideas! 😴
