Oh, great, HBO Max decided to bless us with more Peacemaker, because clearly, we didn’t have enough superhero content clogging our screens. Apparently, DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television think we’re just DYING for another season.
They even dragged James Gunn, John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, Steve Agee, Frank Grillo, Tim Meadows, and Sol Rodriguez to San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) to promote this… masterpiece. The series, lovingly crafted by James Gunn (because who else would want to claim responsibility?) and starring John Cena, is back for eight more episodes of pure, unadulterated… something. Mark your calendars, folks, THURSDAY, AUGUST 21 at 9:00 p.m. ET on HBO Max. 🗓️ Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
In season two, Peacemaker discovers an alternate world where life is everything he wishes it could be. But this discovery also forces him to face his traumatic past and take the future into his own hands.
So, the deep, philosophical premise for this season is Peacemaker finds a world where his life isn’t a complete dumpster fire 🔥. But plot twist! He has to deal with his past trauma 😭. Riveting stuff, truly groundbreaking storytelling. I’m sure it’ll be full of nuanced character development and subtle thematic undertones. Or, you know, maybe just more explosions 💥 and awkward dancing. Either way, get ready to have your mind blown. 🤯
Because you demanded it (or at least, someone somewhere probably did), John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, Steve Agee, and Robert Patrick are back to grace us with their presence. And hold onto your hats, because we have new additions to the cast! 🎉 Get ready for the comedic stylings of Frank Grillo, David Denman, Sol Rodriguez, and Tim Meadows. I’m sure they’ll all bring their A-game to this… endeavor. Can’t wait to see what they do with the material. 😐
James Gunn, in his infinite wisdom, decided to write all eight episodes of this season. Because who needs a writing team when you have one visionary? 🤔 He even directed three of them, including the first, because clearly, no one else is capable. Gunn, along with Peter Safran and John Cena (yes, the actor himself), are serving as executive producers, because why not? Greg Mottola, Peter Sollett, and Alethea Jones also decided to get in on the directing action. Based on characters from DC, PEACEMAKER is proudly brought to you by Gunn’s Troll Court Entertainment (fitting name, don’t you think?) and The Safran Company, in association with Warner Bros. Television. Prepare yourselves. 😈
