Oh. My. Glob. 🙄 Someone actually filmed MUDVAYNE’s entire September 17 gig at the Covelli Centre in Youngstown, Ohio. You know, during their super-important “L.D. 50 25th Anniversary” tour. As if anyone cares. 😴 But hey, sioproductions decided to bless us with this cinematic masterpiece. Check it out below if you have absolutely nothing better to do. I mean, seriously, nothing? 🤷♂️
So, apparently, the setlist for this earth-shattering Youngstown show was:
01. Dig (Because who doesn’t love a song they’ve heard a million times? 😩)
02. Internal Primates Forever (Deep, bro. So deep. 🐒)
03. -1 (Is this a temperature? A bank balance? The number of people who still care? 🤔)
04. Severed (Like my patience.)
05. Death Blooms (How poetic. 🥀 NOT.)
06. Cradle (Rock-a-bye baby, into the mosh pit you go!)
07. Under My Skin (Ew, get it off!)
08. Prod (Like a cattle prod? Seems fitting. 🐄)
09. Nothing To Gein (Ed Gein reference? How edgy. 🔪)
10. Hurt People Hurt People (Profound. Groundbreaking. *yawn* 😪)
11. Dull Boy (Self-awareness? Nah, probably not. 🧠➡️🗑️)
12. World So Cold (Just like my soul after listening to this setlist. 🥶)
13. Determined (To play the same songs for 25 years? 💯)
14. Not Falling (Unlike their relevance.)
15. Happy? (Definitely not. 😠)
Oh, and here’s the tea: ☕ MUDVAYNE guitarist Greg Tribbett skipped the “L.D. 50 25th Anniversary” tour due to his wife’s passing. Thoughts and prayers, but let’s be real, the show must go on, right? 🙄
The “L.D. 50 25th Anniversary” tour started on September 11 in Dubuque, Iowa (I’ve never heard of it either) and ends on October 26 in Uncasville, Connecticut (Still no clue). 🗺️
Last year, Greg bailed on the “Destroy All Enemies” tour with MEGADETH because of a “family issue.” 👨👩👧👦 In his place, they got Marcus Rafferty, a guitar tech who’s worked for bands like LAMB OF GOD and HATEBREED. He also worked for HELLYEAH, which had both Tribbett and Chad Gray. Small world, huh? 🌐
MUDVAYNE dropped a new single called “Sticks And Stones” earlier this month. 🪵🪨 It came out two weeks after “Hurt People Hurt People,” their first new song in 16 years, which has already gotten over half a million streams! 🤑 Guess nostalgia sells. 💿
“L.D. 50” was MUDVAYNE‘s first album, released in August 2000, and made them a big deal in hard rock. 🎉 It even went gold! 🏅Revolver and Metal Hammer called it an essential ’00s metal album. 🤘 The tour will have STATIC-X and VENDED as openers. Prepare to be underwhelmed. 😐
“Sticks And Stones” and “Hurt People Hurt People” were released through Alchemy Recordings, a label by Dino Paredes and Danny Wimmer. Other artists on Alchemy include STAIND and CHEVELLE. Sounds like a mid-2000s rock starter pack. 📦
Before “Hurt People Hurt People,” the band hadn’t released new music since 2009. That’s like, forever in music years. 👴
MUDVAYNE formed in 1996 and has sold over six million albums worldwide. They’re known for their “sonic experimentation,” album art, face paint, masks, and uniforms. Aka, trying way too hard. 🎭
Chad Gray spent 15 years fronting HELLYEAH, which released “Welcome Home” in September 2019. 🏠 It was their last album with Vinnie Paul Abbott, who died seven years ago. 🕊️
MUDVAYNE didn’t tour for their fifth album, which wasn’t promoted and didn’t sell well. 📉 Shocker.
“L.D. 50,” released in 2000, had three singles: “Dig,” “Death Blooms,” and “Nothing To Gein.” It hit No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and No. 85 on the Billboard 200. It went gold for selling over half a million copies in the U.S. 💰
MUDVAYNE finished their first headlining tour in over 14 years, “The Psychotherapy Sessions,” in the summer of 2023. They had COAL CHAMBER, GWAR, NONPOINT, and BUTCHER BABIES with them. 🎪 A real circus.
In 2022, MUDVAYNE co-headlined the “Freaks On Parade” tour with ROB ZOMBIE. 🤡 The 2023 tour was their first headlining tour since 2009. Finally. 😴
