OMG! đ Like, I’m, like, SOOOO devastated to announce that Drew Struzan, the dude who painted, like, ALL your fave movie posters, totally ghosted us yesterday, October 13th. đ I know, right? As if 2023 couldn’t get any worse! đ But, like, on the bright side, he apparently told someone (whoever runs his Insta, I guess?) that he knew we, like, REALLY REALLY loved his art. So, ya know, at least he died happy? đ¤ˇââī¸
Okay, okay, for realsies though, Drew Struzan kicked the bucket at 78. đđĨŗđžđĨ Good innings mate. I guess we should pretend to be sad or something? đĨē I mean, he did paint a bunch of posters for those movies you probably haven’t watched since you were a little kid. đļđŧđ§¸
But let’s be real, the dude’s basically famous for, like, FIVE posters he did for some totally tubular movies back in the 80s and 90s. đŧđšī¸đž He did other stuff too, I guess. Like, book covers and album art? đđļ Who even reads books or buys albums anymore? đ But whatever, he could, like, totally nail an actor’s face. đ Or, like, make ’em look all extra and stuff. 𤥠Some of his posters are, like, photorealistic. đ¸ Others look like someone barfed rainbows all over the canvas. đ𤎠But hey, he always knew what a poster needed to sell tickets to a movie you’d probably torrent anyway. đ´ââ ī¸
