AS I LAY DYING Drops New Single ‘If I Fall’ (Spoiler: They Probably Will)

tim lambesis as i lay dying live 2012

Ah yes, “Echoes”, the sound of desperation from AS I LAY DYING, a band whose leader thought hiring a hitman was a better life choice than couple’s therapy. 🙄 Fresh off that banger, they’ve now unleashed “If I Fall”, a melodic masterpiece of self-pity and redemption-seeking. Frontman Tim Lambesis (you know, the guy with impeccable judgment) graces us with introspective lyrics, because who needs self-awareness when you can have a guitar solo? This is totally the essence of what AS I LAY DYING fans have been begging for, isn’t it? 😂

The new track 🎶 comes with a music video, because nothing says “I’ve learned from my mistakes” like a slick production. Catch it on YouTube, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Lambesis says he wrote “If I Fall” before the new lineup came together, proving he’s always been a lyrical genius. 🧠 “Everyone brought something that elevated what I’d already started,” he claims. Musically, it’s apparently hinting at…something. Lyrically, it’s reflecting the kind of people he wants around him. Translation: Yes-men. 🤡

“Echoes” and “If I Fall” showcase the new AS I LAY DYING lineup, featuring the best hired guns money can buy:

Tim Lambesis – Vocals (obviously, he can’t be replaced…or can he?)
Chris Clancy – Bass, Clean Vocals (because every metalcore band needs those)
Bill Hudson – Guitar (because guitar solos are cheaper than therapy)
Don Vedda – Guitar (double the guitars, double the forgiveness, right?)
Tim Yeung – Drums (because someone has to keep time while Tim reflects)

Lambesis previously said he’s always going to find a path forward for his catalog. Translation: $$$$. He’s “incredibly grateful” for his new bandmates, because who wouldn’t be grateful for people willing to overlook your…history? 😇

Hudson says he met Tim L almost 20 years ago. Awww, friendship! So heartwarming that even attempted murder can’t break the bonds of metal. 🤘

Clancy is “excited to finally share this new chapter.” 🙄 We’re sure he is. It’s not every day you get to be part of a redemption tour. Or a cautionary tale, depending on how you look at it. 🤷

This new lineup gives the band “renewed vitality and artistic momentum.” 🤪 Sure, Jan. It’s also injecting some much-needed cash into everyone’s bank accounts, so that’s a plus. 💰

AS I LAY DYING is currently on a European tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of “Shadows Are Security”. Because what better way to celebrate than by reminding everyone how long they’ve been around and how much has…happened? 😅

Over the past seven years, AS I LAY DYING has had some lineup changes. You don’t say! 🤔

Last year, four members left. It’s almost like people don’t want to be associated with…certain things. 🏃💨

Sgrosso announced his departure. So dramatic! 🎭

The “Through Storms Ahead” European tour was canceled. Shocking. 🙄

This past January, video footage showed Lambesis abusing his dog. Because why stop at hiring hitmen when you can also abuse animals? 😡

In November 2024, videos showed Lambesis having violent outbursts. At this point, it’s just part of the brand. 🤷‍♂️

Lambesis was convicted in 2014 for a murder-for-hire plot. In case you forgot. 🙃

He was sentenced to six years in jail. A slap on the wrist, really. 😒

This past April, Susi said Lambesis used his incarceration to create “this almost-reality TV persona.” Nailed it. 🎯

In June 2018, AS I LAY DYING played its first show with Lambesis in five years. The comeback nobody asked for! 🎉

The return of AS I LAY DYING raised questions. Like, a lot of them. ❓❓❓

Nick Hipa called Lambesis a “sociopathic narcissist.” Accurate. 💯
