Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Brain Exploded When They Tried to Reboot ‘Total Recall’ (Spoiler: It Was a Total Fail)

OMG, you guys! 🙄 Arnold Schwarzenegger, the guy who peaked in the ’80s and ’90s (no offense, Arnie ❤️), has some THOUGHTS about his movies getting remade. Can you even imagine? 🤯 Like, who cares what some has-been thinks about Hollywood recycling everything? 😂

So, apparently, Mr. “I’ll Be Back” himself watched a remake of one of his cinematic masterpieces (or at least movies he was in for a paycheck 💸), and he was NOT impressed. Quelle surprise! 🙄 He whined, “This was the decade where most of the greatest action movies were made — the ’80s into the ’90s.” Yeah, yeah, we get it, grandpa. Back in your day, things were better. 👴 Newsflash: the ’80s also gave us leg warmers and Aqua Net. Not exactly high art, is it? 🤣

“And now of course a lot of companies come and remake them. And in most cases, I’m not happy about that. Because they’re perfect movies.” 🤣🤣🤣 Perfect? Did he seriously say “perfect”? I guess someone forgot about “Junior.” 🤰And “Last Action Hero”. 💣 Please.

He specifically called out the “Total Recall” remake, saying, “Why would you redo *Total Recall*? I was unhappy about it. That is stupid to do.” Well, Arnie, maybe because Hollywood ran out of original ideas sometime in 2003? 🤷‍♀️ Also, maybe because someone thought they could make a better version? Spoiler alert: they didn’t. 🤣 But hey, at least they tried, right? 🤪

But wait, there’s a twist! 😲 Our beloved Austrian Oak actually *likes* the idea of remaking “The Running Man.” 🏃‍♂️ Apparently, he always felt like they didn’t have the budget to make the future look all futuristic enough. 🙄 Oh, the humanity! The lack of proper set design ruined everything! 😭 I guess we should all be grateful that Edgar Wright is here to fix Arnie’s past cinematic failings. 🙏

In case you forgot what these cinematic treasures were about:

“Total Recall” is about a guy named Douglas Quaid who wants fake memories of being a super spy, but oops! It turns out he *was* a super spy! Mind. Blown. 🤯 The original was violent, funny, and made you question reality. The remake? PG-13, not funny, and about as interesting as watching paint dry. 😴

“The Running Man” is about a dude named Ben Richards in a dystopian future where people are entertained by a deadly game show. 💀 The new version stars Glen Powell, Josh Brolin, Michael Cera, and others. Will it be better than the original? Who knows! 🤷‍♀️ But hey, at least Arnie approves! 👍

So, there you have it, folks. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s hot takes on Hollywood remakes. 🔥 What a time to be alive! 🥳 Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go watch “Commando” and contemplate the meaning of life. ✌️
