Trump Finds Perfect Candidate In Completely Unknown Person

Folks, I was sipping my coffee and reading about President Donald Trump urging Sen. Darline Graham, the younger sister of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, to run in South Carolina’s upcoming special primary, and I just about choked on my morning joe. Trump has pledged his “complete and total endorsement” if she enters the race to take her brother’s spot on the ballot. I mean, you can’t make this stuff up, right? Trump wrote on Truth Social, “During her visit, I asked Darline, for the Good of our Nation, to run for the U.S. Senate in the Special Republican Primary on Tuesday, August 11, 2026,” and I’m thinking, what’s next?

Trump’s post on Truth Social was quite the endorsement, praising Darline’s visit to the Oval Office earlier in the week. He said, “I hope Darline does this, in that there would be nobody better to honor the legacy of her beloved brother, Lindsey.” Now, I’m no expert, but it seems like Trump is really rooting for Darline to run. He even added, “Darline, who comes from an absolutely incredible family, has been a WINNER all of her life and, should she accept, has my Complete and Total Endorsement in the Special Election for U.S. Senate in South Carolina — SHE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN. RUN, DARLINE, RUN!”

I guess it’s no surprise that Trump would want someone with the Graham name to run, considering Lindsey Graham was a well-known figure in the Senate. And with the late senator’s death, his seat is now up for grabs. Darline Graham was sworn into the Senate on Tuesday to serve out the remainder of her brother’s term, so she’s already got some experience under her belt.

The special primary election to replace Lindsey Graham on the November ballot is going to be a sprint, and I’m sure it’ll be a wild ride. CNN has reached out to Graham’s office, but so far, no word on whether Darline will take Trump up on his endorsement. I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about this story in the coming days.

As I finish my coffee, I have to say, this whole thing is just a big ol’ mess. But hey, that’s politics for you, right? In the end, it’ll be interesting to see if Darline Graham decides to run and if Trump’s endorsement will be enough to give her the boost she needs. And who knows, maybe she’ll even win – after all, as Trump said, she’s a “WINNER” 🙄.
