Oh boy, are you guys ready for some epic news? 🤯 I just got word that Wednesday 13 is teaming up with the legendary John 5 and his solo band, THE CREATURES, for a summer/fall 2027 tour, and I’m not sure if I should be excited or concerned for the well-being of my eardrums. I mean, it’s not every day you get to see two metal giants join forces, right? 🤘
So, it turns out that Wednesday 13 and John 5 have been friends for a while, and they’ve even toured together in the past. They’ve got a similar taste in music, and Wednesday 13 has always been a fan of John 5’s work with Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, and MÖTLEY CRÜE. In a recent interview with Neil Jones of TotalRock, Wednesday 13 said: “I’ve known John for a while. I toured with Rob Zombie, and when he was with Alice Cooper, MURDERDOLLS, we did a tour for a full year. We toured America, we toured Australia. So I became friends with John. And then we did some solo shows together.”
Apparently, the idea to collaborate came up, and Wednesday 13 was like, “Hell yeah, I’m in!” And I’m like, “Well, duh, who wouldn’t want to play with John 5?” I mean, the guy’s a guitar legend, and Wednesday 13 is, well, the Duke of Spook, so it’s a match made in heaven… or hell, depending on how you look at it. 🤔
The Setlist: A Journey Through John 5’s Musical Past
So, what can we expect from this tour? Well, John 5 and THE CREATURES will be playing songs from Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, MÖTLEY CRÜE, David Lee Roth, and some of John 5’s solo favorites. Wednesday 13 said: “I think the Wacken announcement was the first of many. So around that time you’re gonna see a lot of shows, a lot of festivals. And that’s just one of many to come in Europe, America, and hopefully all over the place.”
And, of course, they’ll be playing at the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany, because what’s a metal tour without a little bit of Wacken, am I right? 🤘 When asked about the setlist, Wednesday 13 said: “It’s still the early stages. I don’t have any plans of what the setlist will be or anything like that. It’s just we got together, we jammed, we played a few songs, and it clicked instantly… I did not have to look at a lyric sheet or anything at all. I knew it.”
John 5: The Guitar Legend
For those who may not know, John 5 has been one of the most in-demand guitar players on the planet for over 30 years. He’s shared stages and recording studios with the likes of Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, David Lee Roth, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, Meat Loaf, and Dolly Parton, because why not? 🤷♀️ He’s also a member of MÖTLEY CRÜE, because, well, that’s just a thing that happened.
John 5 has released a dozen solo albums since 2011, and his latest album, “Ghost”, was released in October 2025 to critical acclaim. He’s also toured extensively, both with MÖTLEY CRÜE and solo, because the man just can’t stop, won’t stop. 🤯
Wednesday 13: The Duke of Spook
Wednesday 13, on the other hand, has established himself as one of the most distinctive voices in horror rock. He’s been making music for decades, blending horror themes with punk rock and metal, and has earned himself the moniker “The Duke of Spook”. He’s had a slew of projects over the years, from MANIAC SPIDER TRASH to FRANKENSTEIN DRAG QUEENS FROM PLANET 13 and MURDERDOLLS, alongside Joey Jordison of SLIPKNOT.
So, there you have it, folks. Wednesday 13 and John 5 are teaming up, and it’s going to be a wild ride. Buckle up, because this tour is going to be a face-melting, ear-shattering, soul-crushing good time… or a complete disaster. Either way, it’ll be entertaining, right? 🤣
