Oh boy, are you guys ready for some earth-shattering news? 🤯 I mean, I’m still trying to pick up the pieces of my shattered mind after hearing that Swedish heavyweights THROWN are embarking on a North American tour in March 2027. I know, I know, it’s not like they’re going to change the face of heavy music or anything (spoiler alert: they probably will). Support on the trek will come from GUILT TRIP and FROMJOY, because why not? It’s not like we haven’t seen this exact same tour package a million times before. 😴
So, let’s get down to business. The tour dates are as follows: March 12 – Philadelphia, PA @ Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia, March 13 – New York, NY @ Irving Plaza, March 14 – Boston, MA @ Paradise Rock Club, and so on. You get the idea. They’re playing a bunch of cities, and if you’re lucky, they might even come to a town near you. 🎉
But wait, there’s more! THROWN’s new album, “Unwanted”, is set for release on November 6 via Arising Empire. Because what’s a tour without some new music to peddle, am I right? 🤑 I mean, who needs originality when you can just release the same album over and over again with a different title? 🤷♂️
The Rise of THROWN
Few bands in modern heavy music have experienced a rise quite like THROWN. In just a few years, the Swedish four-piece have gone from one of the scene’s most exciting new names to a genuine international phenomenon. I guess that’s what happens when you’re “relentlessly heavy” and “impossible to ignore”. 💥 Or maybe it’s just because they’re really good at making music that people actually want to listen to. 🤔
Their debut album “Excessive Guilt” was a game-changer, and now they’re back with “Unwanted”, which promises to be even more “crushing” and “addictive”. Because who doesn’t love a good dose of sonic punishment? 🤯 The album’s first three singles have already demonstrated exactly how powerful that combination can be. “Split” was a frantic collision of crushing heaviness and internal chaos, “Rehearsed” had enormous grooves and a venomous edge, and “Critic” turned outside noise and unsolicited opinions into a defiant statement. Yeah, because that’s exactly what the world needs: more music about being angry at people on the internet. 🙄
THROWN’s Impact
THROWN’s impact reaches far beyond streaming. They’ve taken their explosive live show across North America, Europe, and Australia, touring alongside artists including KNOCKED LOOSE, FIT FOR A KING, COUNTERPARTS, WHILE SHE SLEEPS, and WAGE WAR. I mean, who wouldn’t want to see a bunch of sweaty dudes screaming at each other on stage? 🤷♂️ And they’ve even won some awards, like “Best Breakthrough Live Artist” at the Heavy Music Awards in 2024, and “Best Breakthrough Album” in 2025. Wow, what an achievement. 🏆
At the center of it all are Marcus Lundqvist on vocals, Johan Liljeblad and Andreas Malm on guitars, and drummer and producer Buster Odeholm. Together, they’ve created a sound that pulls from hardcore, metalcore, and nu metal while belonging completely to THROWN. Because who needs originality when you can just mash up a bunch of different genres and call it a day? 🤷♂️
So, there you have it. THROWN is coming to a town near you, and they’re going to blow your mind with their “unwanted” music. Or not. 🤔 Either way, it’s going to be a wild ride, and I’m just here for the free beer and merch. 🍺👕
