Pokémon Legends: Z-A Release Date: Prepare for Disappointment and More Useless Pokémon Presents

Oh, honey, The Pokémon Company International, bless their hearts 🙄, has FINALLY decided to grace us with the release date of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, alongside a brand-new Pokémon Presents presentation. Like, we’ve all been waiting with bated breath, haven’t we? NOT. 🤣

Since last February’s earth-shattering Pokémon Presents presentation (you know, the one that changed absolutely NOTHING), The Pokémon Company has been quieter than a Mimikyu at a rave about the next entry in the Pokémon Legends series. But fear not, peasants! Today, they deigned to announce that both Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (because of course, they want you to buy a whole new console 🙄) and the “base game” for the regular, old, and busted Nintendo Switch will launch on October 16, 2025. Digital pre-orders start June 5 on the Nintendo eShop, so get your wallets ready, kids! 🤑

On top of this monumental news, The Pokémon Company has also revealed their plans for the next Pokémon Presents presentation, which is conveniently arriving BEFORE Pokémon Legends: Z-A. How generous of them! This next spectacle of corporate shilling is scheduled to drop on July 22, 2025. I can hardly contain my excitement! 🎉 In case you forgot (which, let’s be real, you probably did), here’s the last trailer for Legends: Z-A, just to remind you of the mediocrity to come. 😴

The last Pokémon Presents gave us the “amazing” reveal of the starters for Pokémon Legends: Z-A: Chikorita and Totodile from Johto, and Tepig from Unova. Groundbreaking, truly. 🙄 Apparently, these are the Pokémon trainers will encounter first in Lumiose City. And because nostalgia is the only thing they have left, Mega Evolution is back! They’re even releasing Mega Evolution merchandise on the Pokémon Center website soon, so you can spend even MORE money on stuff you don’t need! 💸

Today, you can buy giant pins featuring Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y, or shop from a collection of apparel and accessories showcasing fan-favorites like Mega Venusaur, Mega Gengar, Mega Lucario, and more. Because who wouldn’t want to wear a Mega Gengar t-shirt? 💀 The announcement even included an image celebrating existing Mega Evolutions, despite the fact that everyone on Reddit (the only place where real news happens, duh) is convinced that more Mega Evolutions are on the way. 🤡

Oh, and here’s a little “note” for you, dear players: if you buy Pokémon Legends: Z-A for the Nintendo Switch (physically or digitally), you’ll have the *option* to upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition by purchasing an upgrade pack from the Nintendo eShop and My Nintendo Store. Because why sell you a complete game when they can nickel and dime you for every last penny? 💰

So, to recap: Pokémon Legends: Z-A, along with the Nintendo Switch 2 version (because you HAVE to have both, obviously), launches on October 16, 2025. And the Nintendo Switch 2? Oh, that launches on June 5. Get ready to sell your kidneys, folks! 🤡🤡🤡
