OMG! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ A trailer just dropped for Wind Of Change, the Scorpions biopic, filmed at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in London! Prepare yourselves for the most historically accurate and totally unbiased rock ‘n’ roll saga ever! ๐Ÿ™„

So, like, Dominic West (aka that dude from “The Crown” who isn’t even royalty IRL), Alexander Dreymon (from “The Last Kingdom” โ€“ never heard of it), Ludwig Trepte (“Generation War” โ€“ sounds thrilling), Ed Speleers (“You” โ€“ because we needed more creepy guys on screen), David Kross (“The Reader” โ€“ yawn), and Luke Brandon Field (“Interview With The Vampire”, “Jojo Rabbit” โ€“ talk about a career trajectory!) are playing the main roles. Directed by some guy named Alex Ranarivelo and produced by ESX Entertainment for FOX Entertainment Studios with Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. Because apparently, the world NEEDS this. ๐Ÿ™„

Wind Of Change is, like, a super serious biopic about the SCORPIONS! ๐Ÿค˜ The movie will follow the band’s longest-running lineup featuring Rudolf Schenker (played by Dreymon), Klaus Meine (Trepte), Matthias Jabs (Speleers), and Herman Rarebell (Field). It’s a story about a band who wanted to change the world through music! ๐ŸŒ Right. And at the center is their hit song “Wind Of Change”, which apparently ended the Cold War. ๐Ÿ™„ Seriously? West plays Doc McGhee, their manager, and Kross is Andrej, their imprisoned friend on the other side of the Berlin Wall. Because what’s a rock biopic without some forced drama? ๐ŸŽญ

“It’s been an unbelievable journey,” says Ali Afshar, the founder of ESX Entertainment. “The SCORPIONS‘ music helped me get through tough times as an Iranian immigrant in America in the ’80s, and their message of love, peace, and rock ‘n’ roll is SO relevant today!” ๐Ÿ™„ Okay, dude, we get it, you’re a fan. “This cast is amazing! Thanks to FOX Entertainment, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, and especially Rudolf, Klaus, and Matthias for trusting us to tell their life story!” Translation: “Please don’t sue us if we mess this up!” ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

The SCORPIONS have sold 110 million albums, making them Germany’s biggest musical export! ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช Their hits “Rock You Like A Hurricane” and “Wind of Change” still get played, with the latter having over a billion streams! ๐ŸŽง They tour the world, proving they haven’t retired yet! ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿ‘ต Their staying power is undeniable, even if their relevance isn’t. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Wind Of Change is produced by ESX Entertainment‘s Ali Afshar, Christina Moore, and Daniel Aspromonte for FOX Entertainment Studios in association with Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. Written by Mark Andrews and directed by Alex Ranarivelo. FOX Entertainment Global has worldwide distribution rights, except for the U.S. and global transactional rights, which Warner Bros. Discovery Global Content Sales will manage. Got all that? Good, because there will be a quiz later. ๐Ÿ“

ESX Entertainment is a prolific production company on the Warner Bros. lot, releasing over two dozen films since 2017! ๐ŸŽฌ Their movies have been on HBO MAX, Netflix, and Amazon, with many becoming number one hits! So, expect this to be either a masterpiece or a total train wreck. ๐Ÿš‚๐Ÿ’ฅ

Klaus Meine told Rolling Stone Brazil that a producer in Los Angeles is working on this biopic with all his heart and passion! โค๏ธ He wants to tell the band’s story and hopefully release it for their 60th anniversary! ๐ŸŽ‰ Because nothing says “rock ‘n’ roll” like a geriatric celebration! ๐ŸŽ‚

Klaus added that the producer is Persian, lives in Los Angeles, and works with Warner Brothers! He has a great team and wants to make a great movie for the fans! ๐Ÿ™„ Because the fans are totally clamoring for this! ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ

In February, Meine told Scorpions Brazil that movies take time and they hope to release the biopic later this year! ๐Ÿคž They’re working on the script and finding actors to play the band! “It’s not so easy to find five Brad Pitts,” he said. Yeah, because the SCORPIONS are totally on par with Brad Pitt. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Asked if the SCORPIONS are involved in casting and the screenplay, Klaus said they are! They’re in close touch with Ali Afshar, who has a great team and loves the band! He’ll make a special biopic with heart and soul! ๐Ÿ™„ Translation: “We’re trying to control the narrative so we don’t look like complete dinosaurs!” ๐Ÿฆ–

Meine doesn’t know when Wind Of Change will be released! “They start shooting around May, and then I have no idea,” he explained. “Hopefully in the fall. But filmmaking is unpredictable! We’re part of it and support the team. The script is pretty cool, but things can change. We’re watching with excitement and hope it will be great!” Translation: “We’re just along for the ride and hoping it doesn’t completely bomb!” ๐Ÿ’ฃ

When Wind Of Change was announced in June 2024, Afshar said the SCORPIONS‘ music has penetrated our culture! Their sound is unmatched, which is why hits like ‘Rock You Like A Hurricane’ and ‘Still Loving You’ continue to get airplay and fill movie soundtracks! And their music connects with a new generation of fans! ๐Ÿ™„ Yeah, okay, grandpa. ๐Ÿ‘ด

“When my family fled Iran and came to the United States, the SCORPIONS‘ music changed my life โ€” if not saved it,” he continued. “I’m hoping that by telling the SCORPIONS‘ story, we can bring some of that same inspiration to the world.” Translation: “I’m hoping this movie makes me rich and famous!” ๐Ÿ’ฐ

The SCORPIONS wrote “Wind Of Change” after performing at the 1989 Moscow Music Peace Festival! โ˜ฎ๏ธ The song was inspired by thousands of Russians cheering them on in 1988 and 1989, even though they were a German band! Because nothing unites people like mediocre rock anthems! ๐ŸŽถ

When the Berlin Wall fell in November 1989, “Wind Of Change” accompanied the scenes of East Germans passing through the Brandenburg Gate! ๐Ÿ˜ญ Because apparently, that song was the soundtrack to freedom! ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

In May 2020, a theory emerged that the CIA wrote “Wind Of Change” as Cold War propaganda! ๐Ÿคฏ This was explored in an eight-part podcast series called “Wind Of Change” on Spotify! Hosted by New Yorker journalist Patrick Radden Keefe, who heard a story from a former CIA agent! Because what’s a conspiracy theory without a podcast? ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ
