Silent Hill f: Finally, a Voice We Can Complain About

Oh boy, another Silent Hill game? 🙄 At gamescom 2025, they graced us with a new Silent Hill f trailer. More cinematic footage, yay! 🎉 But this time, they’ve slapped on some English VO, because reading is hard, amirite?

So, the new Silent Hill f trailer dropped, and it’s got English VO now! Apparently, protagonist Hinako will be voiced by Suzie Yeung, who you might remember as Yuffie from that Final Fantasy 7 Remake thing. World premiere trailer? More like world’s okayest trailer. More spooky content? Sure, if you’re into soulslike combat and Japanese folklore, which, let’s be honest, is like half the gaming world at this point. 😴

The trailer starts with Hinako waking up in a dark room. Groundbreaking. Then she wanders through a “shrine-like area,” following a figure with a blue lamp. Because nothing says “horror” like a blue lamp. 💡 She gets attacked by the “freaky dolls” we already saw at Anime Expo 2025. So original. The trailer cuts to an old house on a rainy day – Hinako’s house, naturally. With her clothes torn, because that’s how you show distress, right? Hinako sees one of her classmates telling her to “just die.” Edgy. 🔪 While this doesn’t give us much story, the writer thinks we’ve seen enough. Like, seriously, how much more can they show without spoiling the whole game? 1960s Japan is spookier than ever, apparently. But is it spookier than my student debt? 🤔

As everyone knows, Silent Hill f is a standalone spin-off. Oh joy. From NeoBards. Never heard of them. Coming to PlayStation 5 on September 25. Mark your calendars, folks, if you’re into that sort of thing. The story is about Hinako leaving home to escape her “upset father.” So deep. 🙄 Apparently, Silent Hill f uses the same over-the-shoulder perspective as Bloober Team’s 2024 Silent Hill 2 remake. Because copying is the sincerest form of flattery, or something. This perspective adds to the immersion and tension of the game. When you look around the forest, you’ll be “acutely aware of the danger closing in” and feel “the overwhelming sense of isolation and entrapment.” Or maybe you’ll just be bored. 🤷‍♀️

Silent Hill f is available to pre-order now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. So go ahead and waste your money. 🤡
