Alright, gamers, gather ’round and prepare to be mildly amused by the sheer spectacle of gamescom ONL 2025, where the hype trains run on recycled memes and broken promises. 🚂💨 This is where dreams are made… and then crushed under the weight of microtransactions. 😉
One of the biggest (if not the biggest, because we can’t decide) gaming events of the year is kicking things off with the gamescom ONL 2025. As fast as Summer Game Fest 2025 entered and exited (did anyone even notice it was gone? 🤔), gamescom 2025 is here, and for the entire week, reveals and showcases will dominate the internet, giving players a good look at what’s to come for the next year in gaming and beyond. Brace yourselves for a week of trailers that look way better than the final product! 🤡
Outside of the already exciting announcements of Kirby Air Riders Nintendo Direct (finally, something worth living for! 🌟), Helldivers 2 + Halo ODST warbond landing on August 26 (because who needs new games when you can have more skins? 🤷), and Hollow Knight: Silksong finally releasing information on August 21 (don’t hold your breath, folks! 👻), Gamescom ONL 2025 has brought the goods in the form of many trailers to get everyone hyped for the remainder of 2025, and everything that was announced can be seen below. Prepare for disappointment! 💔
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
To kick things off at gamescom ONL 2025, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was given a fresh look, showcasing the advancement of technology and how it will be deployed in-game. Black Ops 7 takes place all over the globe in major cities like Los Angeles and Tokyo (including the new centre city, Avalon), and it features a sci-fi world-bending element complete with twisted upside-down roads and robots. Black Ops 7 brings back fan favourite zombie modes, including a new Dead Ops Arcade! Black Ops 7 will feature a co-op campaign that can be played with up to four-player teams, and developers say “it’s all about innovation” this time. “Innovation” = more ways to sell you overpriced DLC. 💰
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches on November 14 (just in time for the holidays… to empty your wallets! 💸).
Lords of the Fallen II
The first world premiere at gamescom ONL 2025 was for Lords of the Fallen II. CI Games unleashed a cinematic trailer, and the sequel takes place 100 years after the events of the first title with larger stakes than ever. Bigger stakes, same soulslike formula! 💀
Sekiro: No Defeat
The next announcement was for an anime adaptation of FromSoftware’s Game of the Year winner, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The anime adaptation will be released exclusively on Crunchyroll at a TBD date. Because we needed more ways to consume the same content! 🍿
LEGO Batman: Legacy of The Dark Knight
The return of a legend was then revealed: LEGO Batman is finally back, and it features an open world reminiscent of the Arkham universe, except in brick form, and it features the hit films instead of the games. This time around, LEGO Batman will be adapting from the films complete with the new Batmobile and scenes from the Robert Pattinson-led The Batman. This new compilation will bring decades of the Dark Knight to fans in a new LEGO form. Fans can play as Jim Gordon, Batgirl, Robin, and more. Because everything is awesome… until you step on a LEGO. Ouch! 🧱
Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War IV
A sequel over a decade in the making, Warhammer 40K returns in Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War IV. The RTS allows fans control over their favourite armies while assaulting or defending their team bases. The battle for Cronus continues when Dawn of War IV arrives sometime in 2026. More dakka! More waiting! 💥
Monster Hunter Wilds x Final Fantasy XIV
A new crossover event is coming for Monster Hunter Wilds, and it features Final Fantasy XIV, and creatures from Eorzea will be making their way into the universe! Fans will be allowed to explore the Wilds on chocobo-back and face fearsome monsters from Final Fantasy XIV. The collaboration will launch on a TBD date. Because why not mix two already grindy games into one? 😩
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
Next up, CAPCOM gave fans a new look at Onimusha: Way of the Sword. The new title will embrace the series’s action-heavy nature, and players will have to face off against grotesque monsters that can dish out some serious punishment. More monsters, more swords, more reasons to rage quit! 🤬
Onimusha: Way of the Sword is coming in 2026 (probably).
Daemon x Machina Titanic Scion
A new look at the new sci-fi Daemon x Machina Titanic Scion was revealed, and a demo is playable now! Mechs are cool, but will it be enough to save us from mediocrity? 🤔
Void/Breaker
A launch trailer for the roguelike Void Breaker was shown, and it can be played now! Another roguelike? Groundbreaking! 🙄
Fallout Season 2
The cast and producers for the Prime Video Fallout series then came out at gamescom ONL 2025 to reveal some information regarding the second season of Fallout. Fallout’s second season will take place in New Vegas, and the power dynamic between Lucy and The Ghoul will be explored in detail. Cooper Howard’s (played by Walton Goggins) flashbacks before the war will continue to drive the narrative forward, helping tie pre-war to the current dystopian future. The producers and a new trailer have confirmed Mr. House (played by Justin Theroux) from New Vegas will make an appearance in Season 2. Hope they don’t mess it up like they messed up the first season! 🙏
Fallout Season 2 lands on Prime Video in December 17.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants
The upcoming expansion DLC for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, The Order of Giants, then came to Gamescom ONL 2025 with a new trailer. Indy will be exploring Italian catacombs and solving mysterious puzzles in the name of archaeology. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will also be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2026. More puzzles, more whips, more questionable historical accuracy! 🧐
The Order of Giants arrives on September 4.
Deadpool VR
A new trailer for the upcoming Deadpool VR game was then shown, showcasing Mephisto, Omega Red, Ultimo, Mojo (voiced by John Leguizamo) and more, the Merc with a Mouth will be facing off against. Fourth wall breaks in VR? Count me in! Or maybe not, depending on the price. 💰
Deapool VR arrives on November 18.
World of Tanks 2.0 Update
The next world premiere took off right afterwards, showcasing intense battle tank gameplay in the snow, in forests and in deserts. World of Tanks 2.0 Update shown at gamescom ONL 2025 live, will arrive in September, and it will bring oodles of new tanks and features for players to hit the battlefield with. More tanks! More features! More reasons to spend money! 🤑
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando
The world premiere of John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando was then revealed, and fans will need to gear up to contend with the onslaught of zombies. Toxic Commando will feature co-op gameplay, and it will arrive sometime in 2026. Zombies? Co-op? John Carpenter? Sounds promising, but let’s not get our hopes up too high. 🧟
Death By Scrolling
The next title from point-and-click game developing legend, Ron Gilbert, brought a new roguelike title called Death By Scrolling to gamescom ONL 2025 live. Players will have to face off against many enemies and the unstoppable bottom of the screen in this new pixelated roguelike set in purgatory. Death by scrolling? Sounds about right for today’s internet. 💀
Zero Parades
From the creators of Disco Elysium comes another CRPG from ZA/UM studio revealed at gamescom ONL 2025, steeped in espionage. Zero Parades features gameplay reminiscent of Disco Elysium, and will feature new paths when decisions are made. Can it live up to the legacy of Disco Elysium? Only time will tell (and probably disappoint us). 🕰️
Zero Parades can be wishlisted now, with a release date TBD.
Cinder City
Previously known as Project LLL, the official reveal of NCSoft’s Cinder City was then shown at gamescom ONL 2025. Another generic MMO? Yay… 😴
Time Takers
NCSoft then dropped another premiere gamescom ONL 2025 trailer for another world premiere title called Time Takers. Featuring gameplay based on isekai anime (your protagonist dies and goes to a new world), a new third-person perspective shooter called Time Takers was revealed. Time is the currency, and survival is the cost when Time Takers launches at a TBD date. Time is money, and this game will probably cost you both. ⏳
Silent Hill f
A brand new trailer for Silent Hill f was then shown at the gamescom ONL 2025 showcase, revealing the unsettling atmosphere of the shrine players will have to explore, and the grotesque enemies players will have to face off against. Silent Hill f features a heavier focus on combat this time around, as protagonist Shimizu Hinako wields a glaive against her enemies. Bloober Team also revealed the English actor for Hinako. More Silent Hill? Let’s hope they don’t screw this one up too! 🤞
Silent Hill f launches on September 25.
La Divina Comedia
A new title based on the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri was then showcased at gamescom ONL 2025, featuring a sword-wielding protagonist with his mouth sewn shut, facing off against a demonic creature from hell. Ambitious! Let’s see if they can pull it off without offending everyone. 😈
La Divina Comedia will launch at an TBD date.
Cronos: The New Dawn
A new look was then shown for Cronos: The New Dawn, giving fans a fresh peek at new abominations they will have to face off against to survive. More abominations! More ways to die! More reasons to uninstall! 💀
Pixel P. Snarkbyte, widely regarded as the “Shakespeare of Sh*tposts,” is a video game expert with a unique knack for turning pixels into punchlines.
Born in the small town of Respawn, Pennsylvania, Pixel grew up mashing buttons on an ancient NES controller, firmly believing that “blowing into the cartridge” was a sacred ritual passed down through generations.
