The Disney Channel’s Disney revival of Wizards of Waverly Place is coming to an end, and honestly, it’s about time 🙌. The show, which was executive produced and occasionally guest starred by the one and only Selena Gomez, will be concluding with a “four-part event” on Disney Channel and Disney+. Because, you know, who needs a full season when you can just give the people four episodes and call it a day? 🤣

So, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place is ending, and we’re supposed to be sad about it or something 😔. But let’s be real, the show was only brought back because Disney was like, “Hey, remember that thing we used to make money off of? Let’s do that again!” 💸. And, of course, Selena Gomez is involved because she’s a Disney princess or something 🎀. The fact that she’s directing the season premiere is just the icing on the cake 🎂.

I mean, who needs a real plot when you can just bring back a old show and hope that the nostalgia will carry it? 🙄. The “new” season is going to be all about Billie, Alex’s daughter, trying to rescue her mom from… something 🤔. And, spoiler alert, Billie is Alex’s daughter 🚨. Yeah, because that wasn’t obvious from the title of the show 🙄.

According to Disney, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place has gotten over 101 million views on the Disney Channel YouTube channel, and it’s “among the top five titles overall with kids 6–11, teens 12–17 and adults 18–24 in views” 📊. Wow, that’s impressive…ly vague 🤔. I mean, who doesn’t love a good game of “let’s-not-actually-give-any-real-numbers-but-claim-it’s-a-hit” 🎉?

The original Wizards of Waverly Place ran for four seasons and 106 episodes from 2007 to 2012, because who needs quality control when you can just churn out episode after episode? 📺. And, of course, it spawned a made-for-TV movie and a 2013 special, The Wizards Return: Alex Vs. Alex, because one Alex just wasn’t enough 🤣. The Wizards Beyond Waverly Place revival debuted on Disney Channel in 2024, because who doesn’t love a good cash-grab? 💸

And, as a special treat, here’s a photo gallery of “Lost Disney Animated Movies That Were Never Made” 🎉. Because, you know, who needs actual content when you can just look at some old concept art? 🤷‍♀️. From scrapped princess movies to sequels that never panned out, fans will sadly never see these lost Disney animated movies 😔. But hey, at least we have Wizards Beyond Waverly Place to fill the void… or not 🙅‍♀️.
