The Pokémon Company has finally decided to bless us with another expansion to the Pokémon TCG Pocket card database, because what we really needed was more digital cards to collect and obsess over 🤑. The new expansion, Pulsing Aura, is set to bring even more Mega Evolutions to the digital tabletops, because who doesn’t love a good Mega Evolution? 💥
I mean, it’s not like we’ve been waiting for this moment for years or anything 🙄. The Mega Evolution debuted in Pokémon TCG Pocket in October with Mega Rising, and now it’s time to take it to the next level with Pulsing Aura 🚀. After the Mega Evolution resurgence that began with Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the mobile TCG Pocket title has followed suit, and with today’s announcement (and the mechanic’s inclusion in Pokémon Champions) it appears The Pokémon Company is all-in 🤑.
Pulsing Aura is set to bring new Pokémon and Supporter cards, and the long-awaited debut of Mega Lucario ex and Mega Sceptile ex 🤩. A trailer has been released to channel the hype, and it can be seen below 📹. Alongside Mega Lucario ex and Mega Sceptile ex, Pulsing Aura is also bringing the mythical Kubfu and its evolved form, Urshifu, to the Pokémon TCG Pocket digital battlefield in both Single Strike and Rapid Strike variants 🥊.
New Trainers, such as Korrina and Arena of Antiquity, are coming through to give players the upper hand 🤑. Korinna serves as an anti-ex defence card, letting your fighting-type creatures deal 30 extra damage to an opponent’s active ex card for the turn it is played 🥊. Arena of Antiquity does more of the same, and serves as a Stadium arena that allows fighting-types to always deal 20 extra damage to ex creatures on either side of the field, acting as a potential double-edged sword 🤔.
It’s no secret that ex creatures have taken over the competitive landscape of TCG Pocket, and the addition of these two new Trainer cards will knock down top-tier threats like Mega Absol ex and Mega Altaria ex a peg 📉. These cards also work excellently in tandem with the yet-to-release Mega Lucario ex 🤩. On top of the new cards to play with, Pokémon TCG Pocket is rolling out more ways to personalize your decks 🎨.
Starting with Pulsing Aura, gold frames will be available as a type of flair for ◆, ◆◆, and ◆◆◆ rarity cards in every series 💃. Players can automatically obtain a gold frame if they collect 10 of the same card, and gold frames will be retroactively granted for cards that they already own 10 or more of 🙌. The latest expansion, Pulsing Aura, launches on Monday, April 27, 2026, so fans can dive in then to see the ever-changing landscape of the TCG Pocket world 🌟.
Fans can also head to the official announcement for more information in the meantime 📚. So, what are you waiting for? Get ready to catch ’em all and become the ultimate Pokémon TCG Pocket champion 🏆! 🎉💥🔥
