All eight episodes will be released on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, because who needs a social life, anyway? 🌎
The official trailer is out, and it’s a real treat 🎁. It’s like a masterclass in “how to make a trailer without giving away the entire plot” 🤫. But seriously, it looks like they’re trying to make Carrie White (played by Summer H. Howell) into some kind of…I don’t know…telekinetic superhero or something 🦸♀️. I mean, who needs powers when you have a bad haircut and a worse wardrobe, am I right? 😂
The series is based on Stephen King’s iconic debut novel (because everything is iconic these days 🙄), and it’s been “reimagined” (read: butchered) for the modern world 🌟. Because, you know, the original story wasn’t terrifying enough 🙅♂️. Now we get to see Carrie navigate the “cruelty and pressure of the modern world” 🌎, which apparently includes social media bullying 📱 and…wait for it…teenage angst 🎸. How original 🙄.
The cast is a real who’s who of “who are these people?” 🤔. Summer H. Howell stars as Carrie White, because who needs a big-name actress when you can have someone with a cool surname? 🤷♀️. The ensemble includes Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, and…*yawn*…excuse me, I dozed off for a second 😴. Oh, and Matthew Lillard is in it too, because he’s still trying to make a career out of being a has-been 🤣.
The series is written and executive produced by Mike Flanagan, who’s apparently trying to make a name for himself as the “master of horror” 🎃. Newsflash, Mike: you’re no Stephen King 🙅♂️. The series is an Amazon MGM Studios production, because who needs quality control when you have a big budget? 🤑.
The trailer promises a “gripping, deeply human story about kindness versus cruelty” 🌈, but let’s be real, it’s just going to be a bunch of teenagers being mean to each other and then…BAM! Telekinetic powers activate 🤯. I mean, who needs character development when you can just have special effects? 🎥.
Stephen King’s debut novel was published in 1974, and it’s been a classic ever since 📚. The novel spent 14 weeks on The New York Times Best Seller list, and it’s been translated into more than 35 languages 🌎. But let’s be real, the only reason people still care about Carrie is because of the 1976 film adaptation, which was actually good 🎥. This year marks the film’s 50th anniversary, and I’m sure the new series will be a great way to…*cough*…honor its memory 🙄.
