Oh no, the sky is falling! 🌪️ FORBIDDEN’s bassist Matt Camacho and drummer Chris Kontos are sitting out their upcoming U.S. tour with HEATHEN and VOID due to “personal reasons”. I mean, what’s the point of even having a tour if the whole band isn’t there? 😔 It’s not like they’re just replacing them with some random nobodies or anything… oh wait, they are. 😂 Avery Thurman and Eli Lucas, you’re up! 🎸
So, it turns out that Matt and Chris have some “personal reasons” that are keeping them from joining the tour. You know, the usual: family commitments, prior engagements, or maybe they just didn’t want to deal with the drama of being on the road with a bunch of smelly metalheads. 🤣 Who knows? The important thing is that they’re being replaced by some talented musicians who are probably just thrilled to be filling in for the legends. I mean, who wouldn’t want to play with FORBIDDEN? 🤷♂️
The Replacement Squad
Avery Thurman, the 21-year-old bass prodigy from BLIND ILLUSION, is stepping in for Matt Camacho. Because, you know, 21 is basically a million in metal years, and he’s probably got the chops to keep up with the old guard. 🤘 And Eli Lucas, the runner-up in FORBIDDEN’s drummer search back in 2011, is finally getting his chance to shine. Better late than never, right? 🕰️
According to FORBIDDEN’s statement, they’ve already been rehearsing with the new guys and are “ecstatic” to have them on board. Because, you know, it’s not like they had a choice or anything. 🙄 The band is working on a setlist that spans most of their history, with 18 songs that they can “pull in & out each night”. Yeah, because that’s exactly what you want to hear from a band: that they’re just going to phone it in and play whatever they feel like. 📞
The Tour Must Go On
The “Chaos By Design” U.S. tour with HEATHEN and VOID is still happening, despite the setbacks. Because, you know, the show must go on, even if it’s not exactly the same show that everyone paid to see. 🎟️ The tour kicks off on October 23rd in Las Vegas and concludes on November 22nd in Los Angeles, California. Because, you know, it’s not like he had a choice or anything. 🙏 Chris Kontos also wrote a statement, saying that he’s “really bummed” to miss the tour, but thanks Eli Lucas for filling in. Yeah, because that’s exactly what you want to hear from a drummer: that he’s “bummed” to not be playing drums. 🥁
FORBIDDEN’s new, self-titled album is set to drop on October 23rd via BLKIIBLK, the heavy metal imprint of Frontiers Label Group. Because, you know, what’s a tour without some new music to promote? 📀 The band’s been working on the album since 2025, and it’s their first new music in 16 years. So, yeah, it’s been a while. ⏰
