The wait is finally over, folks! 🎉🔥 THE KOVENANT is back, and they’re not just playing the same old songs they’ve been playing for the past 20 years 🙅‍♂️. They’re actually working on a brand new album, and it’s going to be a game-changer 🤯. In a recent interview with Jerry Kurunen of Rauta, vocalist/bassist Stian “Nagash” Arnesen revealed that the band has already written half of the album, and it’s going to be a mix of all their previous works 🔄. That’s right, folks, you can expect a little bit of everything – from the aggressive and dark sound of their first album to the symphonic and technical sound of ‘Nexus Polaris’ 🌌.

But wait, there’s more! 🤔 Nagash also revealed that the band is working with some new guitarists, including Ghul from MAYHEM and Knut from ARCTURUS 🤘. And, of course, Nagash is putting his own special touch on the album, with all sorts of electronic and symphonic elements 🎶. It’s going to be a wild ride, folks, so buckle up! 🚀

Now, we know what you’re thinking – what about the record label? 🤑 Well, Nagash revealed that they have interest from several labels, but they’re taking their time to find the right one 🕰️. They’re working with a great management team that also works with EMPEROR and SAMAEL, so they’re in good hands 🙏.

But don’t just take our word for it – Nagash has been talking to several media outlets about the new album, and he’s got some interesting things to say 🗣️. In an interview with Savage Noise Media, he revealed that the new album is going to be different from all their previous works, but it’s still going to sound like THE KOVENANT 🤫. And, in an interview with iRock, he talked about how the band is not just about the music, but about the message and the experience 🌟.

So, what can we expect from the new album? 🤔 Well, Nagash has said that it’s going to be a mix of all their previous works, with a little bit of everything 🌈. It’s going to be aggressive, it’s going to be dark, and it’s going to be symphonic 🎵. And, with the addition of new guitarists and Nagash’s electronic and symphonic elements, it’s going to be a truly unique sound 🎶.

THE KOVENANT returned to the live stage in December 2024 at the Eindhoven Metal Meeting festival in Eindhoven, the Netherlands 🇳🇱. And, at some of their recent shows, they’ve been performing their classic album “Nexus Polaris” in its entirety, along with tracks from “Animatronic” and their debut album “In Times Before The Light” 🎸.

The band has been through some lineup changes over the years, but they’re still going strong 🤘. They won a Norwegian Grammy equivalent, called Spellemannsprisen, in 1999 for their album “Nexus Polaris” 🏆. And, they’ve been performing with some new members, including Knut Magne Valle from ARCTURUS, who has been filling in for founding member Psy Coma due to health issues 🙏.

THE KOVENANT was formed in 1993 under the name COVENANT by two black metal artists known as Nagash and Blackheart 🤘. They released their debut album “In Times Before The Light” in 1997, and it was a huge success 🚀. They signed with Nuclear Blast in 1998 and recruited some new members to form an actual band 🎸. With these new recruits, they released their second album “Nexus Polaris”, which is largely considered their best album to date by fans 🤩.

Following a dispute with a Swedish electronic band of the same name, COVENANT changed its name to THE KOVENANT in 1999 🔄. The name change also signaled a musical shift into an industrial metal-influenced sound 🤖. And, the rest is history 📚.

So, there you have it, folks – THE KOVENANT is back, and they’re better than ever 🤘. With their new album on the way, and a string of live shows, they’re ready to take the metal world by storm ⛈️. Stay tuned for more updates, and get ready to rock 🤟! 🎸🔥🎶👏
