The game’s story is about Senua, a Celtic warrior 👊, who’s trapped between life and death 🌀 in a fractured vision of purgatory 🔮. She must fight to reach the afterlife 🕊️ and reunite with those she loved and lost 💔, battling forces that threaten everything she believes in 🤬. The combat looks more dynamic 💥, with the ability to throw weapons 🎯 and attack from stealth 🕵️♀️. She’ll also have access to “Focus Abilities” 🔍, like the reality-shattering skill 🌪️ that can be seen in the trailer 📹.
Matthews revealed that players can use these abilities “as and when they wish, across traversal, puzzle solving, and combat” 🤔. For example, that shatter skill will open up new spaces in the world 🌐, but it can also be used to push back enemies in combat 👊. Because, you know, who needs strategy when you can just shatter reality 💥? 🤪
The game’s size is said to be “about twice the size of what we had in Hellblade 2” 🗺️, but don’t worry, it’s not an open-world game 🙅♂️. It’s a linear story told through a map built of interconnected locations 📍. So, you can still get lost in the world 🌐, but not too lost 🙃.
