So, what’s the hold up? Well, according to Blackie, the band’s touring schedule has been pretty intense, and it’s hard to find time to work on new music. I mean, who can blame them? Touring is exhausting, and it’s not like they’re getting any younger. 😂 But in all seriousness, Blackie did mention that they’ve been working on new stuff for about three years now, and it’s just not consistent enough yet. He wants to make sure that the new album is up to par with their legacy, and that’s a pretty high standard to meet.
The Legacy of W.A.S.P.
Blackie has been talking about the progress of the new album for a while now, and it’s clear that he’s feeling the pressure. In a June 2025 interview with Stoyan Tsonev of Bulgaria’s Z-Rock radio, he mentioned that the tour schedule has been crazy, and it’s hard to find time to work on new music. He also said that the new album has to be better than their old stuff, which is a pretty tall order. I mean, who can compete with the likes of “L.O.V.E. Machine” and “I Wanna Be Somebody”? 🤘 Those songs are iconic, and it’s hard to top that.
But Blackie is determined to make it happen. He’s been working on a book, and he’s also been listening to the demos they’ve been working on, trying to get a feel for what’s working and what’s not. The Touring Life
W.A.S.P. has been touring non-stop, and it’s clear that they’re still got it. 🤘 They’ve announced the “1984 To Headless” 2026 U.S. and Canada tour with KK’S PRIEST as very special guest, and fans are stoked. The tour kicks off on September 10 in California and runs through October 31, and W.A.S.P. will be playing all the hits from their first four albums. 🎸 And, of course, they’ll be offering VIP tickets that give fans a chance to meet Blackie, get a personal photo, autographs, and all that jazz. 🤩

Blackie has said that he wants to make a heavy, nasty, stinky rock and roll record, but it’s just not coming out that way. 🤔 He’s been trying to steer the ship in a different direction, but it’s not working.
