OMG! 🙄 Metallica, those lovable dinosaurs 🦕, are STILL at it! They’ve announced their “M72” tour is crawling back to Europe in 2026. Yes, you read that right, *2026*. I’m pretty sure my grandkids will be complaining about the price of these tickets.👴👵
And the support acts? Hold onto your dentures! We’ve got Gojira (who?), Knocked Loose (more like Knocked Out😴), Pantera (without the two dudes that matter) and Avatar (finally a band that’s at least trying something different). Seriously, Metallica, did you just pull names out of a hat?🎩 A very, very dusty hat?
Oh, but it gets better. The production? It’s the SAME “unique stadium production in-the-round at midfield.” Because originality is for other bands, apparently. They’re dusting off the Snake Pit 🐍 again, so you can all cram yourselves into the center and pretend you’re actually close to the band while you’re actually just close to sweaty dudes. And don’t forget to bring your earplugs! 👂
Tickets go on sale Friday, May 30th. Presales start Tuesday, May 27th. So get ready to battle it out with bots and scalpers for the privilege of paying exorbitant prices to see a band that peaked in the ’80s. 💸
Metallica says, and I quote, “We’re excited to continue the now-tradition of No Repeat Weekends.” No Repeat Weekends? Groundbreaking! So, you mean they’re going to play two different sets of songs? 🤯 Mind. Blown. Pantera’s back for another round, because apparently someone still cares. And they’re “reuniting” with Gojira. Because everyone remembers that legendary “World Magnetic” tour, right? Right?🦗 Crickets.
“Frankfurt, Budapest, Dublin, and London will all feature No Repeat Weekend shows that will continue to offer a completely unique experience each night.” Unique? Playing a different setlist isn’t exactly reinventing the wheel, guys. 🙄 But hey, at least you won’t hear “Enter Sandman” twice in one weekend. Small victories, people, small victories. 🏆 And don’t worry, they’ll have “lots of extracurricular events planned for you to hang with fellow Metallica fans.” Translation: overpriced beer and questionable merch. 🍻
And in a “new twist,” there will be eight One Night Only shows! Because, you know, they haven’t played enough shows already. They’re gracing Athens, Chorzów, and Cardiff with their presence for the first time in ages! Aren’t we lucky? 🍀 Bucharest, Zurich, Berlin, Bologna, and Glasgow are also getting the Metallica treatment. Get ready for traffic jams and overpriced hotel rooms!🏨
But wait, there’s more! “Enhanced Experiences” are back! Because just buying a ticket isn’t enough anymore. You can pay extra for a meet-and-greet (with a band member who probably doesn’t want to be there), a production and stage tour (so you can see how the sausage is made), and food and beverage in the Black Box Lounge (aka a slightly less crowded area with slightly better snacks). 🧀 The “I Disappear Ticket” is also back! For the fan who wants to “run away with us and attend every ‘M72’ 2026 show in Europe!” Because who needs a job or a life when you can follow Metallica around like a lost puppy? 🐕
For more information about these “Enhanced Experiences” (aka ways to drain your bank account), visit wearesuper.co/metallica. Travel packages are also available! Because planning a trip is hard, and Metallica wants to make it easy for you to give them all your money.💰 Visit metallicatravel.com for all the info. Just remember to sell your kidney first. 🔪
“No Repeat Weekend 2-Day discounted tickets” (discounted? I’ll believe it when I see it) and One Night Only show tickets go on sale May 30th. Fan Club presales start May 27th. So get ready to refresh your browser until your fingers bleed. 🩸 If you can’t join them for a full No Repeat Weekend, Single-Day tickets will be available starting July 25, 2025. Because they know you’re desperate. 😈

* Gojira and Knocked Loose support (prepare for some serious head-scratching)
+ Pantera and Avatar support (because why not)
Metallica played the first concert of 2025 on April 19 at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, New York. Support at the show came from Pantera and Suicidal Tendencies. Because apparently, it’s always 1991 somewhere. 🕰️
Since opening April 2023 in Amsterdam, “M72” has seen Metallica play to more than three million fans. Three million people who apparently have nothing better to do with their time and money. Variously hailed as “an altogether life-affirming experience” (Billboard – paid advertisement, probably), “impossible to leave unsatisfied” (Austin Chronicle – unless you hate arena rock), “a stone-cold stunner of a show” (Detroit News – maybe they were drunk), “the mother of all summer concerts” (Worcester Telegram Gazette – hyperbole much?) and “as tight and furious as Metallica has sounded in ages” (Los Angeles Times – someone needs a hearing aid), “M72” continues to amaze fans and critics alike. Or at least, that’s what they want you to believe. 🤥
The “M72” world tour’s 2025 itinerary continues the hallowed No Repeat Weekend tradition, with each night of the two-show stands featuring entirely different setlists and support lineups. These include Metallica’s return to Tampa after 15 years on June 6 and 8 at Raymond James Stadium. Because Tampa was just *begging* for more Metallica. 🙏 “M72” has also confirmed its much-anticipated Bay Area hometown play, to take place June 20 and 22 with the band’s debut performances at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. Get ready for overpriced parking and terrible traffic! 🚗
Support on “M72″‘s 2025 North American run comes from Pantera, Limp Bizkit (still?!), Suicidal Tendencies and Ice Nine Kills. Because apparently, they’re trying to appeal to every generation of angsty teenagers. 😡
“M72″‘s 2025 North American leg is produced by Live Nation and presented by new sponsor inKind. inKind rewards diners with special offers and credit back when they use the app to pay at 2,000-plus top-rated restaurants nationwide. So, basically, Metallica is now sponsored by a restaurant app. Because that’s what metal is all about. 🤘 Fans can learn more at inkind.com. Bon appétit! 🍽️
As always, a portion of proceeds from every ticket sold on “M72″‘s 2025 North American leg will go to local charities via the band’s All Within My Hands foundation. Established in 2017 as a way to give back to communities that have supported Metallica over the years, All Within My Hands has raised over $15 million.
