‘Superman’ Ending “Explained”: Because You’re Clearly Too Dumb to Understand It Yourself

The following garbage fire of text and video will contain spoilers for James Gunn’s Superman (allegedly). If you want the ending of Superman explained without spoilers a) good luck with that, genius and b) please tell us where you found a magical unicorn that grants wishes because we’re pretty sure that’s more likely than discussing a movie’s ending without, you know, *spoiling* it.

Superman is apparently the first movie in the brand-new DC Universe (again… for the 17th time). And it sets the stage for several upcoming DC projects, most obviously the already-shot Supergirl movie. (Which, in our obviously superior opinion, should get retitled Supergirl and Krypto, the Best Boy in the Galaxy.🐶 Because who doesn’t love a super-powered dog more than, say, a compelling plot or decent acting?) In our latest Superman movie (which you’ll probably hate-watch anyway), we’ll grace you with our infinite wisdom on how Superman sets up the new DCU — and we’ll also condescendingly discuss some of the other details of the movie and their comic-book origins, including the film’s unusual version of Ultraman (and how he’s actually closer to other DC characters like Bizarro and Superboy). Watch the full video below (but don’t say we didn’t warn you):

So, you think you’re a Superman expert, huh? 🙄 Well, hold onto your capes, folks, because *Superman* is here to “save” the DCEU (again!). But let’s be real, we all know how that usually goes. This movie is apparently gonna set up a whole bunch of future DC projects, which, let’s face it, will probably be rebooted in five years anyway. And don’t even get us started on the Supergirl movie. They should just rename it *Supergirl and Krypto: The Dynamic Duo*, because who needs complex storylines when you can have a super-powered doggo? 🐕‍🦺 In this video (that you’ll probably hate-watch anyway), we’ll break down how *Superman* sets up this “new” DCU, and we’ll even bore you with comic book trivia about Ultraman and his knockoff friends, Bizarro and Superboy. So buckle up, buttercups, because this is gonna be a wild ride… straight into mediocrity! 🎢

If you somehow enjoyed that video on Superman’s ending and post-credits scene (you have questionable taste, but okay), check out more of our videos below, including one on the wild story of Tim Burton’s unmade Superman movie (because what could be more relevant than a movie that never existed?), one on James Gunn and DC’s movie Batman problem (spoiler: they have one), and one on all of the Easter eggs in the trailer for James Gunn’s Superman (because hunting for meaningless details is totally worth your time). Plus, there’s tons more over at ScreenCrush’s YouTube channel. Be sure to subscribe to catch all our future episodes (and fuel our crippling need for validation). James Gunn’s Superman is now playing in theaters everywhere (as if you didn’t already know). 🍿
