RUNNING WILD to FINALLY Release New Album in Summer 2026 (If They Remember To)

Ahoy, mateys! Prepare yourselves for another legendary saga! 🤣 The geriatric pirates of RUNNING WILD are STILL allegedly working on their new album, aiming for a “tentative” summer 2026 release. Yes, you read that right! 2026! ⏳ By then, Rock N’ Rolf will probably be rocking a walker on stage! 👴🎸

So, earlier today (Monday, November 17th, 2025 – mark your calendars, folks, it’s HISTORY in the making! 🗓️), Captain Rolf “Rock N’ Rolf” Kasparek himself, bless his heart, took to social media (probably with assistance from his grandkids) to deliver the “good” news. “Dear fans,” he wrote, “It’s been a long time since you’ve heard anything about the development of the new studio album.” No kidding, Rolf! We thought you’d sailed off into the sunset! 🌅

Apparently, Rolf’s been having a rough time. First, he had to “prepare” for those grueling summer festivals where he probably just stood there while the other band members did all the work. Then, “unforeseen problems arose,” which we can only assume involved misplaced dentures and difficulty finding his eye patch. 🤔 But wait, there’s more! After playing “5 successful summer festivals” (successful according to whom?), Rolf got the dreaded C-word: Corona! 🦠 Oh, the drama! This all set him back in finishing the new album. But since the end of September he was able again working on the songs and I hope that everything is finished before Christmas and that the actual recordings can start in January. The goal is to release the album before our gig at the Wacken Open Air next summer.

But fear not, loyal (and incredibly patient) fans! Rolf assures us that “it will be worth the wait.” 🙄 I mean, what else is he going to say? “Yeah, it’s probably going to be terrible, but buy it anyway!”? He even promises to deliver “actual news” before the end of the year. Get ready for more vague updates and potential health scares! Until then, “hoist the sails… a storm is coming!” Or maybe just a gentle breeze.🌬️ Who knows?

Let’s not forget RUNNING WILD‘s last masterpiece, “Blood On Blood,” which dropped in October 2021 via Steamhammer/SPV. Rolf declared it “probably the best in RUNNING WILD‘s career to date.” 🤣 Oh, Rolf, you crack us up! Every song sounded exactly as he imagined it, which is either a stroke of genius or a sign that he needs a hearing aid. 👂 He claimed he’d “never been happier with a RUNNING WILD record before.” We’re happy for you, Rolf! Maybe stick to that one then!

Rolf also described “Blood On Blood” as the most diverse offering he’s released so far. Diverse like a buffet at a retirement home? The cover artwork was, once again, designed by Jens Reinhold (VIRGIN STEELE, FREEDOM CALL, among others). So, you know it’s going to be… something. 🎨

In addition to Rolf, RUNNING WILD‘s current lineup includes guitarist Peter Jordan, bassist Ole Hempelmann, and drummer Michael Wolpers. These guys are either incredibly loyal or incredibly trapped. 🤔

For those of you who weren’t around during the Bronze Age, RUNNING WILD was formed back in 1976 as GRANITE HEARTS before changing its name to, well, steal it from a JUDAS PRIEST song three years later. 🤘 Talk about originality!

Kasparek has led RUNNING WILD since the dawn of time (or at least 1976) and has been the sole founding member since 1984. A true testament to his iron will or an inability to work with others? You decide! 🤷‍♂️

RUNNING WILD‘s current lineup has been stable since 2015, which is practically an eternity in rock and roll years. Maybe they’re all just waiting for their pensions to kick in. 💰

“Blood On Blood” was RUNNING WILD‘s seventeenth studio album, and the band’s first since 2016’s “Rapid Foray.” So, if we do the math, we can expect the next album sometime around… 2030? Place your bets now! 🎰
