Trump Possibly Trying To Steal Election Because Why Not

Folks, I almost spilled my coffee reading this one. Democrats are apparently reaching DEFCON 1 levels of alarm about President Donald Trump’s efforts to influence the coming election. I mean, I get it, elections can be crazy, but this sounds like something out of a movie. According to Democratic strategist and CNN political analyst David Axelrod, “All the signals are flashing red.” That’s quite a statement, if you ask me.

Axelrod wrote that “On the square, the @GOP would take a beating this fall, largely because of Trump’s unpopularity,” but instead, Trump is setting up a Plan B, which apparently involves doing whatever it takes to win. I’m not sure what that entails, but I’m sure it’ll be interesting to watch. Axelrod also said that anyone who thinks Trump wouldn’t do something drastic hasn’t been paying attention. Okay, got it, Trump is unpredictable, but that’s not exactly news.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a Florida Democrat, told CNN that people in her district are worried about what might happen in November. Some are even worried that Trump will cancel elections or declare martial law. I mean, I’ve heard some wild conspiracy theories in my time, but that’s a new one. Wasserman Schultz tries to reassure her constituents, but I can imagine it’s tough to calm people down when they’re that worked up.

It’s worth noting that Republicans have already redrawn congressional districts to their advantage, which could net them up to 10 seats in November. That’s a pretty significant advantage, if you ask me. And with Trump’s efforts to influence the election, it’s no wonder Democrats are getting a little nervous.

The White House has been taking some interesting steps to help Republicans in November. For example, Trump recently fired three of the four commissioners on the Election Assistance Commission, an agency that helps states conduct secure elections. That’s a pretty big deal, if you ask me. And let’s not forget about Trump’s executive order on mail-in voting, which could potentially be used to suppress votes.

Axelrod also mentioned Trump’s appointment of Bill Pulte as Director of National Intelligence, which is a bit of a head-scratcher. Pulte has no intelligence experience, but he does have deep ties to the GOP. And then there’s the fact that Trump has appointed election deniers to sensitive oversight positions. It’s all a bit suspicious, if you ask me.

Despite all the drama, it’s worth noting that elections are still run by states, and they’re doing a pretty good job of it. According to David Becker, founder of the Center for Election Innovation and Research, Americans should be confident that the coming election will be sound. He means that people will be able to vote and those votes will be counted accurately. So, while there’s certainly a lot of craziness going on, it’s not all doom and gloom.

In conclusion, the 2024 election is shaping up to be a wild ride, folks. With Trump’s efforts to influence the election and the Democrats’ alarm over his actions, it’s anyone’s guess what will happen in November. But hey, at least we can all agree that it’ll be entertaining to watch. And who knows, maybe Trump will surprise us all and do something completely unexpected. After all, as the saying goes, “you can’t make this stuff up.” 🙄
