Kelly Clarkson Was Absolutely Thrilled to Be Forced Into a Life of Fame and Fortune Against Her Will on American Idol

Kelly Clarkson, the OG American Idol winner, is still out here living her best life, and we’re all just over here trying to keep up with her sass and awesomeness 🙌. She won the first season of American Idol back in 2002, and let’s be real, she’s been killing the game ever since 🎤. But, fun fact: she didn’t even want to win the competition in the first place 🤯. Yep, you read that right, folks. Kelly Clarkson, the girl who’s been rocking our worlds with her powerful voice and sharp wit, didn’t want to be the American Idol winner 🙅‍♀️.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Clarkson revealed that she and runner-up Justin Guarini had a conversation before the finale, and she was all like, “Hey, dude, I don’t want to win this thing 🙅‍♀️.” And Guarini was all like, “Uh, okay, Kelly, but why not? 🤔” And she was all like, “Because we have to do a movie, and I don’t want to be an actress 🎬.” Yep, that’s right, folks, Kelly Clarkson didn’t want to win American Idol because she didn’t want to star in a movie 🎥. And, let’s be real, who can blame her? I mean, have you seen From Justin to Kelly? 🎃 It’s like, wow, that movie is a hot mess express 🚂.

But, anyway, Kelly Clarkson won American Idol, and she had to do the movie, and let’s just say it was a real struggle for her 🤣. She even showed up to the premiere drunk 🍻, because, why not, right? 🤷‍♀️ And, in a interview with the Howard Stern Show, she confessed that she tried everything to get out of doing the movie 🎬. She even cried and hid in her closet, trying to avoid her family and the movie’s producer, Simon Fuller 🤣. And, when she finally had to do the movie, she was so embarrassed that she showed up to the premiere hammered 🍻. Like, who can relate, am I right? 🙋‍♀️

But, in all seriousness, Kelly Clarkson is a total boss, and we love her for it 💁‍♀️. She’s had an amazing career, and she’s still out here slaying the game 🎤. And, even though she didn’t want to win American Idol, she’s definitely made the most of it 🙌. So, here’s to Kelly Clarkson, the OG American Idol winner, and all-around amazing human being 🎉.
