Oh look, another “A Quiet Place” sequel is coming because apparently, the world just can’t get enough of people tiptoeing around like they’re sneaking into their parents’ liquor cabinet.
John Krasinski, the man who somehow convinced studios that making entire films where characters communicate via facial expressions and gentle foot taps is worth a nine-figure investment, has officially announced that A Quiet Place Part III is ready to roll. In a stunning development that shocked absolutely no one, Krasinski took to Instagram to share a photo of the scripts—because nothing says “I’m a serious filmmaker” quite like humble-bragging about your next blockbuster on social media.
The photo features the scripts for the next installment, proudly displaying the names of the returning cast members: Cillian Murphy (the guy who looks perpetually disappointed), Emily Blunt (Krasinski’s real-life wife, because nepotism is just family values in Hollywood), Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe. Also joining the whisper party are Jack O’Connell (fresh off his villainous vampire turn in Sinners, because apparently being undead makes you an expert at not making noise), Jason Clarke, and Katy O’Brien.
“𝓢๐ 𝛠𝜊𝛾𝚍 𝛕𝝈 𝚋ℯ 𝛼 𝚙𝝰𝘳𝞽 ٥𝖿 τ𝒽𝝸𝘀 #AQuietPlace 𝒻αm𝝸l𝕪… ०lⅾ 𝛂𝛑𝔡 𝗻𝖾w!” Krasinski wrote, probably while whispering to avoid disturbing the peace. “Нℯⲅе 𝔴𝔢 𝕘𝝄!” Which roughly translates to “𝙻𝚎𝑡’𝓈 m𝕒𝚔𝓮 m𝓸𝓇𝕖 m𝝄𝜛℮𝚢 𝕓𝐲 𝕙𝒶ᴠ𝗂𝝿ƍ 𝕡𝓮𝚘𝓅l𝚎 𝗐𝚊ⅼ𝜅 𝓪𝓇૦𝚞𝑛𝒹 𝙸𝙞ϰ𝕖 𝘁𝚑𝒆𝙮’𝒓𝑒 𝛼𝔣𝚛𝐚𝚒𝔡 𝛐ẝ 𝓼𝚝𝚎𝔭𝑝𝑖𝝿𝓰 ०ռ 𝓪 𝖫𝔢𝙜๐ 𝛂𝚒ԁ 𝕔𝙧𝖊𝗮𝖙𝚞𝖗𝙚.”

The franchise, birthed from the minds of writers Bryan Woods and Scott Beck (who are probably still waiting for their royalty checks to arrive via carrier pigeon), centers on a family trying to survive in a world where blind aliens who are apparently sound engineers by trade have invaded Earth. These creatures have such advanced hearing that they can detect a pin drop from three states away but somehow missed the sound of a shotgun being cocked right next to their slimy alien ears.
After the first two films both performed well enough to buy Krasinski a small island nation, Paramount decided to expand the universe with A Quiet Place: Day One, a prequel featuring new characters led by Lupita Nyong’o and The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ Joseph Quinn. This one focused on the earliest hours of the alien invasion, presumably including scenes of people realizing they should’ve invested in better carpeting.
The three Quiet Place films have collectively grossed over $900 million worldwide, proving once and for all that audiences will pay to watch anything as long as there’s a compelling reason for characters not to talk. It’s basically the cinematic equivalent of a mime convention, but with higher stakes and better production values.
A Quiet Place Part III is now scheduled to open in theaters on July 30, 2027, giving everyone plenty of time to practice walking on eggshells and communicating exclusively through interpretive dance. The film promises to deliver more of what fans love: people being absolutely silent while alien monsters who apparently failed every other sense in evolution hunt them down. It’s basically the world’s most expensive game of “the floor is lava,” but with extraterrestrial creatures and a much bigger budget.
So mark your calendars, folks. In 2027, we’ll all get to experience the thrill of watching people not make a sound for two hours straight. It’s the perfect movie for anyone who’s ever wanted to yell at the screen but was afraid of being shushed by an alien monster. Progress! 👽🤫🎬
