🎉👻 Konami has finally decided to stop milking the Metal Gear Solid series and has announced a new Castlevania game, because who needs innovation when you can just reboot a 40-year-old franchise? 🤑 Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is the latest installment in the series, and it’s coming out in October 2026, just in time for Halloween, because spooky season is the perfect time to release a game about vampires and curses 🎃.
Celebrating its 40th anniversary, Castlevania finds its 26th main entry game, because who’s counting, really? 🤣 Konami and Evil Empire were proud to announce Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, a sequel to Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse from back in 1989, because nostalgia is a powerful thing 🕰️. The game may be spearheaded by Evil Empire, but Motion Twin was said to be in a consulting role as well, because who wouldn’t want to collaborate with the creators of Dead Cells, one of the most overhyped games of the past few years 🤔? The two creators worked on Dead Cells together, and now they’re collaborating on this next game in the iconic franchise, because why fix what ain’t broke, right? 🤑
The story description on the Xbox Wire confirms the game is “set 23 years after 1989’s Castlevania: Dracula’s Curse,” because who needs a coherent timeline when you can just make things up as you go along? 📆 Then, it reveals the “new sequel depicts the growth of a young Rose Belmont–daughter of Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades–and marries the classic structure of Castlevania with modern enhancements, including enhanced freedom and speed, tarot-based Arcana skills, and more,” because who doesn’t love a good ol’ fashioned vampire-slaying game with a side of tarot cards? 🔮 And yes, Rose will be carrying the Belmont family heirloom whip, the “Vampire Killer”, which is able to be used both as offense against enemies and for movement across large chasms and certain heights that cannot be reached otherwise, because who needs a grappling hook when you can just use a whip? 🤪
This is a nice change of pace, having a new female lead in Rose, because feminism and all that jazz 🎉. This almost parallels the family bonds in games and sequel games, likened recently to that of God of War: Laufey revealed at the latest Sony State of Play, because who doesn’t love a good family drama? 👪 It was nice to see some of the cool visuals from the trailer, along with the dynamic enhancements, because who doesn’t love a good graphics upgrade? 📈 The voiceover from Rose’s mother Sypha is heard over some of the gameplay: “God has given you another chance, Rose. You must use it wisely to better control your curse and strengthen yourself,” because who doesn’t love a good dose of melodrama? 🎭 So, maybe it will be looking back and forward in examining Rose’s journey, because who knows, maybe she’ll discover that she’s actually a vampire herself and have to navigate the complexities of vampire adolescence 🧛♀️.
The latest installment in the series, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, is set to launch on October 15, 2026, because who doesn’t love a good Halloween release date? 🎃 It will be coming to XBOX Series X|S and XBOX on PC as an Xbox Play Anywhere title, because who doesn’t love the convenience of playing games on multiple platforms? 📱👍 And if you’re feeling extra generous, you can even pre-order the game now and get a free bonus DLC pack, because who doesn’t love free stuff? 🎁👏
So, are you excited for Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse? 🤔 Do you think it will live up to the hype, or will it be just another lackluster sequel in a long line of lackluster sequels? 🤷♀️ Let us know in the comments below, because we love reading your thoughts and opinions, even if they’re completely wrong 🙄. And if you’re feeling extra troll-y, you can even try to convince us that the game is actually going to be good, despite all evidence to the contrary 😂. Happy gaming, and remember, don’t @ us 😜.
