Another July 4th, and CNN is pushing the same old leftist propaganda, this time disguised as a puff piece about Coney Island. You know, that bastion of American values where godless liberals gather to celebrate… hot dogs?
It’s the busiest day of the year for the Brooklyn neighborhood, and a boon to its businesses. Oh, how touching. Are they going to mention how many of those businesses are probably owned by woke corporations pushing their agenda on innocent Americans?
New Yorkers flock to Coney Island for holiday festivities, which culminate in a traditional fireworks display. Fireworks? Probably bought from Communist China! And I bet half the attendees are illegal immigrants, courtesy of Biden’s open border policy.
Joey Chestnut, the “hero” of the hot dog eating contest, is back after being “banned” in 2024. What was the ban for? Probably some snowflake complaint about “body shaming” or some other nonsense. Glad to see he’s back to show the libs how real Americans celebrate freedom: by stuffing their faces!
Coney Island’s growth was slammed by damage from Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and then from the pandemic shutdowns in 2020. Oh, boo-hoo. Maybe if New York wasn’t a sanctuary city run by socialist Democrats, they’d have some money to fix things.
Alliance for Coney Island said 2020 and 2021 were difficult years for his business due to restrictions on groups. But now “we’re definitely seeing a rebound.” Rebound? More like a temporary blip before the next Democrat-induced recession.
A manager at Vicky’s Food & Treats, said it would be “amazing” if more customers stopped by for milkshakes, fried Oreos and other snacks at her stand. She expressed “extreme worries” about business and added that while there have been longer lines recently, the heat waves on the East Coast have put a strain on foot traffic. Heat waves? More like the global warming hoax perpetuated by the left to destroy our economy!
Hints of economic revitalization take place throughout the strip. Childs Restaurant, one of the first national dining chains in North America, was restored and reopened, and the New York Aquarium fully reopened in 2022. Don’t be fooled. It’s all smoke and mirrors. The Democrats will find a way to screw it up, just like they do with everything else.
Jobs in leisure and hospitality dipped, according to a 2024 report from the office of the New York State comptroller. Translation: people are fleeing New York because it’s a liberal hellhole.
Pennsylvania Tourism Office estimated that more than 30,000 visitors went to Punxsutawney, which has a population of about 6,000, for Groundhog Day in 2024. Now that’s how you celebrate America: with a groundhog! None of that woke Coney Island nonsense.
Joey Chestnut is back in the hot dog eating competition and (the Cyclones) have a game that night. “I’m anticipating a huge, huge, massive turnout.” Probably all liberals trying to escape their miserable, socialist lives for a day.
