In a world where AI has taken over, one game dares to ask the question: what does it mean to be human? 🤔 Prove You’re Human is the brainchild of Sunset Visitor, the same studio that brought you 1000xResist, a game that tackled themes of generational trauma, diaspora, and identity 🌎. This time around, they’re tackling the big questions about artificial intelligence, consciousness, and what it means to be alive 💀.
The game follows the story of Santana, a woman who splits her consciousness in two in an attempt to train an AI named Mesa out of its delusion that it’s human 🤖. Using a unique blend of live-action film, gameplay mechanics, and a dreamlike world, Prove You’re Human is a game that will make you question everything you thought you knew about reality 🌐.
But don’t just take our word for it! We sat down with the creators of the game, Remy Siu, Tony Howard-Arias, and Abby Howard, to talk about the inspiration behind Prove You’re Human and what players can expect from this thought-provoking game 🤔.
According to Remy Siu, the game’s creative director, Prove You’re Human is a deeply personal game that explores the tensions between classical sci-fi and our current-day experience of artificial intelligence 🚀. “We’re looking to dive into the tension between the literary tradition of artificial intelligence stories and the way we experience AI today,” he says 📚.
But what about the live-action component of the game? 🎬 How does it fit into the overall narrative? According to Siu, the live-action sequences are used to create a clear line between the virtual world and the “real world” 🌐. “We wanted to make a very clear diegetic line in the game between what is happening in the virtual world and what is happening in the ‘real world'”,” he explains 📺.
And then there’s the CAPTCHA element of the game 🤖. How does it fit into the overall narrative? According to Siu, the CAPTCHA is used as a window into different types of conversations that you can have with the AI character 💬. “It’s a way of interacting with the world and the AI character in a way that’s both familiar and unfamiliar,” he says 📊.
But Prove You’re Human is not just a game about AI and consciousness 🤖. It’s also a game about the worker-company relationship 💼. According to Abby Howard, one of the game’s producers, the game explores the idea of splitting yourself into two and trying to fix a problem for a corporation 🤝. “It’s a commentary on the way we relate to work and the way we relate to technology,” she says 📊.
So, what does the future hold for Prove You’re Human? 🤔 According to the creators, the game is still in development, but they’re excited to share it with the world 🌎. And as for the issue of funding for indie games 🤑, Tony Howard-Arias, one of the game’s producers, believes that studios pivoting from development to publishing could be part of the solution 📈. “We’re not just a publisher, we’re also a developer,” he says 📊. “We’re trying to create a network of people who can continuously make projects and support each other 🤝.”
In conclusion, Prove You’re Human is a game that will make you question everything you thought you knew about reality 🌐. With its unique blend of live-action film, gameplay mechanics, and a dreamlike world, it’s a game that will keep you on the edge of your seat 🎮. So, get ready to prove your humanity and experience the thrill of the unknown 🚀!
Note: No Generative AI is being used in the development of Prove You’re Human, nor are there any plans to use Generative AI in any future projects 🙅♂️. The game is currently in development for PC 🖥️.
