The legendary metal band Pantera is back, but not really 🤔. I mean, it’s not like they’re back with their original lineup or anything 🙅♂️. Nope, this time around they’ve got Charlie Benante from Anthrax on drums and Zakk Wylde from Black Label Society on guitar 🤘. But hey, who needs Dimebag and Vinnie Paul when you’ve got these two dudes, right? 🙄
In a recent interview with Talk Is Jericho, Charlie Benante talked about the possibility of the reformed Pantera making new music 🎸. Because, you know, the world is just missing that special something that only Pantera can provide 🙄. Benante said that he and Zakk could definitely come up with some new riffs in the Pantera style, but it’s all up to Philip Anselmo and Rex Brown to decide where they want to take this project 🤔. Yeah, because Philip and Rex are just known for their impeccable decision-making skills 🙃.
Benante also talked about his drumming approach in Pantera compared to how he plays in Anthrax 🥁. Apparently, he’s trying to play it just like Vinnie Paul did, because that’s what the fans want 🙏. But let’s be real, it’s not like Vinnie Paul is replaceable or anything 🙅♂️. I mean, the guy was a legend, and Benante is just… well, Benante 🤷♂️.
The interview also touched on the topic of the pushback the band has received for using the Pantera name without Dimebag and Vinnie Paul 🤔. Benante said that he wishes people would just be more caring and loving towards them, and stop being so “rotten” about things 🙄. Yeah, because that’s exactly what the internet is known for – being caring and loving 🤣.
But seriously, folks, it’s hard to blame people for being skeptical about this whole thing 🤔. I mean, Pantera without Dimebag and Vinnie Paul is just not the same 🙅♂️. It’s like trying to make a pizza without the cheese and sauce – it’s just not going to taste the same 🍕.
In other news, Zakk Wylde recently said that he’s down to do whatever the other guys want to do, including releasing a live album 📀. Because, you know, the world is just missing a live album from this version of Pantera 🙄. And Benante has been talking about how much he loves playing with Philip and Rex, and how they’re all just one big happy family 🤣.
But let’s not forget the real reason why Pantera is back – to make money 💸. I mean, it’s not like they’re doing it for the art or anything 🙄. They’re doing it because they can, and because they want to cash in on the Pantera name 🤑.
So, if you’re a die-hard Pantera fan, I’m sure you’ll be thrilled to know that they’re back and making music again 🤩. But for the rest of us, it’s just a bunch of old dudes trying to relive their glory days 🙃. Either way, it’s going to be interesting to see how this all plays out 🤔.
And hey, who knows, maybe they’ll even release some new music that’s actually good 🎶. But until then, let’s just enjoy the nostalgia and the novelty of it all 🎉. After all, it’s not every day that you get to see a bunch of old metalheads trying to rock out like it’s 1999 🤘.
