OMG! 🙄 HBO Just Dropped a Hagrid Bomb and the Internet is Officially Imploding! 🔥 Prepare yourselves, Potterheads, because your childhood is about to be brutally murdered! 🔪 They Dared to Show Us…Hagrid! Not the Robbie Coltrane Hagrid we all know and love (RIP Legend 🕊️), but…THIS Hagrid. Like, seriously, are they even trying anymore? 🤣
So, the geniuses at HBO decided it was time to “reimagine” Hagrid, and by “reimagine,” I mean cast Nick Frost. Yes, THAT Nick Frost. From *Shaun of the Dead* and *Hot Fuzz*. I guess they thought, “Hey, let’s take a comedic actor and slap a beard on him. Instant Hagrid, right?” WRONG! 🙅♀️
I can’t even. Is this Hagrid or some cosplayer who raided a Halloween store five minutes before the convention closed? 🎃 The wig looks like a dead animal, the beard is questionable, and the whole thing screams “budget cuts!” 📉 Did they blow all the money on John Lithgow as Dumbledore and Janet McTeer as McGonagall? Because this looks like they found this “Hagrid” at a renaissance faire.
And let’s talk about the casting choices! 🤦♀️ Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom? Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley? Who are these people? Did they pull names out of a hat? 🎩 I’m sure they’re lovely actors, but come on! This is *Harry Potter*! We need iconic casting, not random people who look vaguely like the characters. And Louise Brealey as Madam Hooch? Anton Lesser as Ollivander? Seriously? 😒
Don’t even get me STARTED on the “new” Harry, Hermione, and Ron. Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton and Alastair Stout? Sounds like a law firm, not the Golden Trio. 🧑⚖️ They could have at least tried to find kids with a slight resemblance to Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. But no, HBO just went full “meh.” 🤷♀️
Oh, and let’s not forget the “faithful adaptation” promise. J.K. Rowling is involved, so that’s good! 👍 But how faithful can it be when they’re already butchering the characters? 🔪 I’m betting they’ll change everything for “modern audiences.” Get ready for woke Hogwarts, where everyone is non-binary and Voldemort is just misunderstood. 🌈
And the fact that this monstrosity isn’t coming out until 2027? 📅 That’s three whole years to stew in our disappointment. Thanks, HBO. You’ve officially ruined *Harry Potter* for a whole new generation. 😭
