Oh boy, are you ready for some mind-blowing news? 😲 SABATON’s bassist and manager, Pär Sundström, just spilled the beans on the secret to their massive success, and it’s not like we didn’t already know or anything… 🙄 According to Sundström, it’s all about being a hardworking, DIY band that doesn’t let anyone else tell them what to do. Wow, what a revolutionary concept! 🤯
So, Sundström was chatting with Sakis Fragos from Rock Hard Greece, and he said that SABATON’s success is due to a combination of factors, including their hard work, DIY approach, and having a great team behind them. He also mentioned that having a great songwriter and singer like Joakim Brodén doesn’t hurt either. I mean, who wouldn’t want to listen to songs about historical battles and wars all day? 🤷♂️ It’s not like that’s a niche market or anything…
The SABATON Formula for Success
Apparently, SABATON’s formula for success involves doing everything themselves, from touring to managing their own festival and cruise. Because, you know, who needs professional help when you can just wing it and hope for the best? 🤪 Sundström said that they’ve always been driven by people telling them they can’t do something, and that just motivates them to prove those people wrong. Oh, I’m sure that’s a totally healthy and not-at-all-toxic approach to success… 🙄
Sundström also mentioned that SABATON’s success can’t be attributed to just one thing, but rather a lot of different factors. He said that the current lineup, which includes Thobbe Englund, Chris Rörland, and Hannes Van Dahl, has been together since 2012 and has given their heart and soul to the band. Aww, isn’t that sweet? 🎸 They’re just like a big, happy family… except when they’re not, and they have to deal with things like inflammation in their arms and postpone tours. 🤕
Touring and Album News
Speaking of tours, SABATON just announced a second part to their European “The Legendary Tour”, which is set to take place in April/May 2027. Because, you know, the first part wasn’t legendary enough… 🙄 The tour will hit 15 different countries, including shows at Dublin’s 3ARENA, Glasgow OVO Hydro, and Birmingham NEC. I’m sure it’ll be a blast… for the 260,000 people who attended the first leg of the tour, that is. 🎉
And, in case you missed it, SABATON also announced new dates for their previously postponed North American tour. The tour was originally scheduled to kick off in February, but had to be postponed due to Sundström’s arm inflammation. Because, you know, you can’t rock out with a sore arm… 🤕 The new dates will launch on September 23 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and conclude on December 12 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Joy. 🎉
SABATON’s latest album, “Legends”, was released on October 17, 2025, and it’s a real treat… if you’re into that sort of thing. 🎸 It’s got all the usual SABATON ingredients: historical battles, wars, and acts of heroism, with a side of melodic guitar riffs and epic choruses. Yum… 🤤 The album is available in various physical formats, including CD, 2CD digibook, and 11 unique vinyl editions, because who doesn’t love a good vinyl collection? 🎶
In conclusion, SABATON is still a thing, and they’re still doing their SABATON thing. If you’re into that sort of thing, you’ll probably love their new tour and album. If not, well… there’s always something else to listen to, right? 🙄 🎸💤
