Okay, so Wildgate, the game that promised to be the next big thing but is probably just gonna be another space-themed loot-and-shoot, is getting an update. 🙄 Since its launch in April – which feels like a lifetime ago in game development years – they’ve been “enhancing” the world. More like slapping a band-aid on a gaping wound, am I right? But hey, at least they’re trying, right? Right? 🥲
Dreamhaven and Moonshot Games are unleashing the “Emergence” update on November 19th, 2025. Mark your calendars, folks, because this is totally gonna change the game! Or, you know, maybe it’ll just add a few more things to grind for before you get bored and move on to the next shiny object. ✨ Two new game modes, a new Prospector (whatever that is), weapons, equipment, and even a ship! It’s like they’re throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. Desperate much? 😂
“Treasure Hunt” mode? Sounds riveting. You enter the Reach, salvage treasure, and try not to get blown up. So, basically the same as the rest of the game, but with a new coat of paint. They’re calling it a “slightly more relaxed experience,” which probably means you’ll only get ganked by AI instead of sweaty try-hards. Thanks, guys! 👍 Fight AI-controlled ships, complete quests (fetch quests, probably), and extract whenever you want. Groundbreaking stuff, really. Turning your haul into rewards? Don’t they all? 🤣
Then there’s “Fleet Battle,” a 3v3 mode where you blast your opponents into space dust (how original!) or secure Artifacts. “Fast-paced, low-stakes combat,” they say. Translation: a chaotic mess where skill doesn’t matter and everyone just spams abilities. This is the combat-oriented experience that they conveniently forgot to include at launch! 🤡
And now for the star of the show: Charline, the new Prospector! This Psionic being can revive allies instantly, teleport to them within 150 meters, and is healed by cosmic storms, radiation, fire, and shock fields. So, basically, she’s immortal. Talk about balanced! 🔥 They’ve combined Liara from Mass Effect and an Axolotl. Because why not? 🤷♂️ This is going to be the new meta. Prepare for everyone to play her.
But wait, there’s more! A new two-man ship called the Outlaw, which is resistant to boarding and specializes in speed. It is not available in Fleet Battle mode, so this ship is useless! Custom Lobbies are being added, so you can host your own matches. Invite friends, set a few basic options, and relive the glory days of online gaming. Or, you know, just get stomped by a coordinated team while your friends rage-quit. 💀
Oh, and let’s not forget the new Dead Worlds Reach Zone. Ice is scarce, danger is everywhere, and you have to use “vampiric devices” to siphon energy from shipwrecks or “eerie crimson towers.” Sounds totally not like every other survival game ever made. 🙄 New Alien Point-of-Interest? Check. New Resonator weapon? Check. Medic drone? Check. It’s like they’re ticking off boxes on a checklist of generic game features. ✅
Wildgate is available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. If you’re still playing it, that is. 🕹️
