OMG! Nintendo's Dropping a 45-Minute Kirby Air Ride Bomb Tomorrow! Get Ready to Snooze

Get ready to scream into your pillows, folks! 🤪 Nintendo, in their infinite wisdom (or lack thereof), has decided to grace us with a 45-minute KIRBY AIR RIDERS Direct presentation on Tuesday, August 19. Yes, you read that right. 45 whole minutes dedicated to a game we’re not even sure anyone asked for. Is this real life? Is this just fantasy? No, it’s just Nintendo trolling us again. 🤔

Apparently, more “details” (and I use that term loosely) are coming about this uh…”iconic” pink blob’s next adventure. According to Nintendo’s “Today” app (which, let’s be honest, probably only gets opened by like, five people), the presentation kicks off at 8am PT / 11am ET / 2pm BST. So, set your alarms, clear your schedule, and prepare to be underwhelmed! They are saying the game is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. Which, by the way, still doesn’t have a release date besides 2025. Maybe they’ll announce that, too! šŸ¤ž

Nintendo of America’s social media post (probably written by a bot) boasts that the Direct will feature the one and only Masahiro Sakurai himself! šŸŽ‰ He will be the one doing the trolling! He is directing the game too! The post even includes a link to watch the Direct. As if we needed more encouragement to waste 45 minutes of our lives. šŸ™„

45 minutes?! For KIRBY AIR RIDERS? Are you kidding me? šŸ’€ Sakurai must be REALLY bored or trying to compensate for something. I mean, compare this to Mario Kart World’s measly 17-minute presentation and Donkey Kong Bonanza’s pathetic 15-minute Direct. This KIRBY AIR RIDERS Direct must be special…or a complete train wreck. Either way, I’m grabbing the popcorn. šŸæ All we’ve seen so far is a CGI teaser from some random Direct earlier this year. So, naturally, “fans” (whoever they are) are expecting gameplay footage and more. I’m expecting disappointment, but hey, maybe they’ll surprise us…doubtful. šŸ˜’

And of course, Nintendo might use this as an excuse to plug their appearance at Gamescom 2025. You know, because everyone’s just dying to see more Switch 2 demos. And let’s not forget the PokĆ©mon Legends: Z-A demo, which will undoubtedly be the highlight of the event. Because who needs new and innovative games when you can just rehash the same old formula with a fresh coat of paint? šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Apparently, this KIRBY AIR RIDERS game is a sequel to the 2003 GameCube classic (and I use that term generously) Kirby Air Ride. Last year, Sakurai claimed he was “still creating games for the time being,” despite previously saying he was “semi-retired” after Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s final DLC character. So, basically, he’s just messing with us at this point. 🤣 Then, in 2022, he teased, “I’m sorry I can’t share more about this project, but assuming we’re able to get it made, it should be announced sooner or later.ā€ Well, here we are, folks. Sooner or later has arrived and our lives will forever be changed (for the worse). šŸ˜‚

Sakurai himself posted on X (formerly Twitter, because Elon Musk is ruining everything) last week, celebrating the 20th anniversary of his company, Sora. He hinted that the new KIRBY AIR RIDERS game hasn’t even shown gameplay footage yet, but he thinks they’ll be able to share some information soon. Well, buckle up, buttercups! Because tomorrow, we’re all going on a wild ride to disappointment town. 🤔 Choo choo! šŸš‚
