Alright gamers, gather ’round the digital campfire🔥! Nintendo, bless their little hearts, decided to drop a “bomb”💣 (more like a water balloon🎈) on us during their September Nintendo Direct. We’re getting another Fire Emblem game called Fortune’s Weave, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 (because your old Switch is basically a paperweight now, right? 😂). But hold your horses 🐴, because the trailer ending is the real clown show 🤡.
Fortune’s Weave is sporting a “new” visual style, which, let’s be honest, looks suspiciously like Fire Emblem: Three Houses after a cheap facelift 💅. I mean, did they just slap a new filter on it and call it a day? 🤣 Probably. But hey, who am I to judge? Maybe they’re going for that “nostalgic but slightly off” vibe.🤔
So, the trailer is all about this colosseum, right? Like, we get it, gladiators fight there. 🙄Is this Fire Emblem or Spartacus? I’m so confused 😵💫. They’re really pushing this “games” thing, but honestly, it just looks like a fancy arena for pixelated characters to smack each other around.😴 But hey, maybe they’ll add a mini-game where you bet on the fights. Now THAT’S innovation 🧠!
Our “hero” is apparently named Cai. And get this, they ride a giant chicken🐔 into battle. A FREAKING CHICKEN! What is this, Zelda🐔 meets Mad Max? I can’t even… 🤦♀️ I guess dragons were too mainstream. Cai is running around the colosseum. Maybe they lost their keys?🔑 Who knows? The trailer doesn’t tell us anything useful. 🤷♀️
But the REAL kicker is the ending. An adult Sothis (from Three Houses) pops up and is like, “Have you forgotten me so soon?” 🙄 Oh, Sothis, honey, we were trying to! Is this a sequel? A prequel? An interdimensional crossover episode? 🌌 Are we diving into the Fire Emblem multiverse? 🤪 Is this fanfiction gone wild? ✍️ I have so many questions, and Nintendo has zero answers. 😡 But hey, at least it gives us something to argue about on the internet. 🎉
And who’s even making this game? Intelligent Systems, probably. But will Koei Tecmo be back to help them? 🤔 It’s all shrouded in mystery, like a poorly written plot twist. 👻 Nintendo is holding all the cards close to their chest. I’d bet the gameplay is just like all the other Fire Emblem games. At least they are consistent. Yawn. 😴
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is slated for a 2026 release, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2. So, start saving your pennies, kids. 💰 You’ll need them to buy the new console and this reskinned version of Three Houses. 🤡 Because who needs original content when you can just recycle the same old formula? ♻️
