EXTREME Drops Another Turd: ‘Here’s To The Losers’ – The 12th and FINAL Nail in the ‘Six’ Coffin

EXTREME, the band that time forgot (and maybe for good reason 🤔), has unleashed a music video for their earth-shattering hit, “Here’s To The Losers.” Yes, you read that right. Losers. It’s from their latest *magnum opus*, “Six,” which dropped in June 2023 via earMUSIC (whoever greenlit *that* decision needs a raise…or maybe a demotion). Buckle up, folks, because this is a wild ride into the abyss of mediocrity! 🤡

The “Here’s To The Losers” music video is apparently the grand finale of their quest to visually interpret all 12 songs from “Six.” Twelve?! Who asked for that? It’s also a “thank you” to their (checks notes)…*fans*? Right before Thanksgiving in the US, because nothing says “gratitude” like a song about being a loser. Gobble gobble, I guess? 🦃

In this groundbreaking visual masterpiece, each member of EXTREME (do they still have members?) pays homage to their respective high schools. Because nothing screams “rock god” like reminiscing about awkward teenage years. The song is allegedly dedicated to those who have fallen and risen again. So, basically everyone who’s ever tripped over their own feet? Deep stuff. 🤯

EXTREME singer Gary Cherone (still alive?) boldly proclaims that it’s “as close to an anthem as we’ll get.” Translation: We’re washed up, but at least we have this slightly-above-elevator-music tune. He also adds that it “just made sense” to end the album with it. Because what better way to end an album than with a song about being a loser? It’s what the fans want! 🤪

“Six” apparently propelled EXTREME to “new heights.” I’m assuming those heights are slightly above sea level. The album boasts bangers like “Rise” (featuring a guitar solo that some poor, misguided soul dubbed “the guitar solo of the century”), alongside other unforgettable classics like “Banshee” and “Other Side Of The Rainbow.” And they even went on a “globe-spanning tour” across the U.S., Europe, India, Japan, and Australia. Probably playing to crowds of dozens. Bettencourt also reaffirmed his status as a guitar god (debatable) with a performance at Ozzy Osbourne‘s farewell concert. Which then led to him becoming music director at the 2025 MTV VMAs where he paid tribute to Ozzy alongside Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and Yungblud. What a crossover episode 💀

Speaking of charts, “Six” landed at No. 10 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart, selling a whopping 12,500 copies. That’s like, what, enough to fill a small high school gymnasium? This marks EXTREME‘s first studio album since 2008. They were last in the Top 10 with “III Sides To Every Story” back in October 1992. Congrats! 🎉 Only took them 30 years.

Nuno, in his infinite wisdom, declared that he’d put their album up against anyone’s. Bold words for a band that most people forgot existed. He also claims that the album has this “mythology of rock and roll” that’s missing from guitar-driven music today. I guess nostalgia sells, even if it’s for a band that peaked decades ago. 🤷‍♂️

According to Nuno, the recording of “Six” only took as long as a normal album to record, despite the 15-year gap. They just had “three albums’ worth of material.” Which begs the question: why didn’t they just release those three albums? Maybe they realized that one mediocre album was all the world could handle. 😂

Bettencourt says they “set a bar” for themselves. I’m assuming that bar is somewhere near the floor. He also says that they need to be “super proud” and “super excited” to share their music. Even if it’s with Tom Morello. I’m sure Tom is just *thrilled*.🙄

And if you still haven’t had enough, EXTREME will be opening for DEF LEPPARD and MÖTLEY CRÜE in 2026! Because what better way to experience a washed-up band than to have to see them before some other washed-up bands? 🤘
