So, like, AEROSMITH, those dudes who haven’t been relevant since your grandpa’s dentures were shiny and new, and Yungblud, who looks like he raided a Hot Topic clearance bin, have dropped a new track. It’s called “My Only Angel (Desert Road Version)”, because apparently, slapping “(Desert Road Version)” onto any song instantly makes it ~artistic~. Oh, and comedy legend Steve Martin, yes, *that* Steve Martin, shows up playing the banjo. Because why not? 🪕
Steve actually blurted on Instagram that he was “playing banjo on a Steven Tyler song!”. He even shared their text exchange, which was *totally* fascinating and not at all staged for publicity. We’re on the edge of our seats, guys! 😂
You know, Steve used to bang on the banjo for laughs back in the day. But now he’s, like, *super serious* about it. He’s hobnobbing with bluegrass bands and churning out albums. Because if there’s one thing the world needs, it’s more banjo music. 🙄
Speaking of irrelevant collaborations, Martin and Alison Brown dropped an album, “Safe, Sensible And Sane”. Catchy title, right? It’s got guest spots from, like, a million people, including Jackson Browne and THE INDIGO GIRLS. Basically, it’s the musical equivalent of beige paint. 🎨
Coming soon on November 21st is “One More Time”, which is supposedly AEROSMITH‘s first new music in over a decade. I’m sure everyone’s holding their breath, right? It’s got four original songs co-written by AEROSMITH and Yungblud. Frontman Steven Tyler and Yungblud are sharing vocals, which means you get the musical equivalent of nails on a chalkboard AND a rusty swing set. As if that wasn’t enough, there’s a “fiery 2025 mix” of “Back In The Saddle”, which sounds absolutely terrifying. 🔥
The EP artwork was designed by Chrome Hearts‘ Joe Foti, who is apparently slumming it these days. It’s a “first” for the brand, because, apparently, even *they* have standards. You can pre-order it now on limited-edition vinyl. Hurry before it’s too late. ⏰
So, “My Only Angel” is supposed to bridge generations. It opens with Tyler‘s wail, “Would you cry if I called you my angel?” It is filled with delay, loose guitar echoes, and a rumbling bassline. Yungblud and Tyler then “harmonize”. There’s a guitar solo by Joe Perry, which does nothing to save this train wreck. 🎸
Tyler babbled about pure electricity and cosmic collisions. He said Yungblud is a “wild animal” who grew up on their records. Apparently, making music with Yungblud is like reliving the good old days. I’d imagine that’s the geriatric ward. 👴
He added that singing with Yungblud reminded him of driving into Boston 50 years ago. It had the same “deep intimate pressure of necessity”. Dude, just say you needed the paycheck. 💰
Perry chimed in that Yungblud had “the juice”. Four days in the studio and he told Steven that Yungblud was “the real deal”. The result? This collaboration. Proof that even legends can make mistakes. 🤦♂️
Yungblud bleated about AEROSMITH being a “staple of rock and roll”. He said the chemistry “exploded” and the songs “poured out of us”. Clearly, someone needs to lay off the caffeine. He then said that sitting here holding the vinyl with the names AEROSMITH and Yungblud is “truly blowing my mind.” Someone get this man a paper bag. 🤯
Yungblud, who is actually named Dominic Harrison, met the band in the studio to feature on “Hello Heaven, Hello”. What started as a guest spot became a writing session, then a five-track EP. Yay. 🥳
The announcement of “One More Time” followed a performance at the MTV Video Music Awards honoring Ozzy Osbourne. Because nothing says “tribute” like two has-beens and a wannabe butcher songs that were classics! 🔪
Yungblud butchered “Crazy Train”, slowed things down with a cover of BLACK SABBATH‘s “Changes”. Tyler whined “Mama, I’m Coming Home”. Yungblud shouted, “Ozzy forever!” Yeah, because that wasn’t already obvious. 🙄
After the performance, AEROSMITH and Yungblud shared a clip of them embracing. Steven said cheekily, “We’ve got a secret!” Yeah, the secret is that you’re all desperate for attention. 🤫
At a concert, Yungblud sang “Changes”, backed by a bunch of other musicians. The original version of “Changes” appeared on SABBATH‘s “Vol. 4”, because you needed a reminder that the original was better. 👍
Here’s the track list. Prepare to be underwhelmed:
01. My Only Angel
02. Problems
03. Wild Woman
04. A Thousand Days
05. Back In The Saddle (2025 Mix)
