Because apparently we haven’t milked this franchise enough yet, Cold Symmetry is back with a new trailer for Mortal Shell 2, and it’s coming sooner than fans think. I mean, who doesn’t love a good soulslike game every few months? It’s not like we’re drowning in a sea of identical action RPGs or anything. The new trailer is out, and it’s got all the usual stuff: dark environments, creepy atmosphere, and what looks like some truly punishing gameplay. Just what I needed to spice up my gaming routine.
The Never-Ending Cycle of Sequels
Cold Symmetry and Playstack Games have surprise-dropped a new trailer for Mortal Shell 2, because why not? It’s not like they had anything better to do, like, say, creating a new IP or something. Nope, let’s just crank out another sequel and call it a day. The game is set to release before GTA VI, because apparently, the world is just missing a soulslike game in their lives. And don’t worry, fans, it’s going to be a wild ride, with “unrestricted, adrenaline-charged combat” and “deeper weapon design with extensive upgrade options.” Yay, more loot grinding!
Open Beta: Because You Can’t Wait
For fans who just can’t get enough of Mortal Shell 2, there’s an open beta currently available on Steam. Because, you know, the game isn’t even out yet, but hey, let’s get those players in and start generating some buzz. It’s not like they’re going to find any bugs or balance issues or anything. And if you’re feeling extra eager, you can pre-order the game and get some fancy bonus content, like the Obsidian Skin Set, which lets you transform into different playable shells. Because, you know, that’s exactly what the game was missing.
Physical Edition: For the True Collectors
And, of course, no game would be complete without a fancy physical edition. The Revered Edition, exclusive to PlayStation 5, comes with all sorts of goodies, like a collector’s box, artbook, fine art prints, and a steelbook case. Because, you know, the game itself isn’t enough; you need to have a fancy box to display on your shelf. Some executive somewhere got a bonus for this, I’m sure.
Release Date: Mark Your Calendars
Mortal Shell 2 arrives on August 20 for PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. Another day, another roadmap, another game to add to the pile. Nature is healing, indeed. Shareholders rejoice, I’m sure. The PS2 memory card community is devastated, but that’s a story for another time. Live-service enthusiasts are preparing the candles and summoning circle, ready to dive into the latest soulslike experience. At this point, even the loading screens have lore. Joy.
