Tommy explained: “The overarching theme of it, it’s set in this dark asylum imagery, where we are the prisoners of our own creations. It’s easy to get caught in the fear and the doubt and all the experiences you had and not know how to get out of it.” Yeah, because that’s not something we can all relate to 🙄. I mean, who hasn’t felt like they’re trapped in their own personal hell at some point, am I right? 🤷♂️. But seriously, the album’s theme is about finding a way out of that darkness and finding peace within yourself, which is a pretty cool message if you ask me 🤔.
The Music
Now, let’s talk about the music itself 🎶. Tommy said that he made sure the lyrics of each song can be understood on their own, without needing to know the whole story of the album 📚. He also mentioned that he works well with having imagery to inspire his writing, and that he needs to live with the music for a bit before starting to write lyrics and melodies 🎵. The album was released on various platforms, including vinyl, CD, and digital, because who doesn’t love options, right? 🤷♂️. And, of course, it was produced by the amazing Sascha Paeth and mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen, because you can’t have a great album without great production 🎧.
