Kylie revives Fever again because nostalgia pays bills

Twenty-five years to the day since it was first released, Kylie Minogue announces Fever (XXV Edition), a new edition of the album that sent her to No.1 around the world. Because apparently retirement is just a suggestion, and we’re back with another edition of a classic album. I mean, who needs new music when we can just re-release the same thing with a few extra tracks, right? Nature is healing, and another deluxe edition has appeared, much like a phoenix from the ashes, or in this case, a remastered phoenix with a few bonus tracks.

The Fever Legacy

Fever topped the charts in the UK, Australia and across Europe and has sold more than six million copies. The lead single and now iconic Can’t Get You Out Of My Head, went to No.1 in more than 40 countries, spending four weeks at number one in the UK, becoming Britain’s most played song of the Noughties. The song’s popularity continues into 2026 having become one of the viral sensations of the summer and recently entering the prestigious Spotify Billions Club. Somewhere, a record label executive felt a disturbance in the royalties, and suddenly we have a new edition of the album.

The Fever era produced some of pop’s defining images. Dawn Shadforth’s video for Can’t Get You Out Of My Head, with Kylie in the Mrs Jones white hooded jumpsuit, remains one of the most referenced looks in music. Michel Gondry’s single-take video for Come Into My World was named one of the greatest music videos of all time by Rolling Stone, and the song won Kylie her first Grammy for Best Dance Recording in 2004. At the 2002 BRIT Awards, Kylie won Best International Female Solo Artist and Best International Album. Later that year the KylieFever2002 tour played 49 shows across Europe and Australia. The farewell tour count has officially entered scientific notation, and we’re still waiting for the 40th anniversary edition.

Fever (XXV Edition) Formats

Out on November 27 via Parlophone, there will be several limited edition anniversary formats and a brand new Fever (XXV Edition) merchandise collection. On vinyl, Fever (XXV Edition) is pressed on Crystal Clear vinyl and presented in the original sleeve with an alternate back cover, housed in a reflective mirror board outer sleeve embossed with a silhouette of the original artwork. Inside is a previously unseen contact sheet from the album shoot, photographed by Vincent Peters. An Arctic Pearl vinyl edition is available exclusively from kylie.com. A vinyl pressing plant somewhere just burst into tears, trying to keep up with the demand for all these limited editions.

The Deluxe CD edition pairs the original album with a second disc of B-sides, bonus tracks and remixes. It includes Can’t Get Blue Monday Out Of My Head, the New Order mash-up Kylie performed at the 2002 BRIT Awards (appearing on stage on the now legendary giant CD), songs from the era including Boy, Tightrope and Rendezvous At Sunset, and remixes by Roger Sanchez, Twin Master Plan and Fischerspooner. It comes in a three-panel digipack with a 12-page booklet of lyrics and photographs. The exclusive edition available has an extended 20-page booklet and a mirror board outer sleeve carrying the Fever (XXV Edition) logo. Nobody truly retires in this industry. They merely wait for the 40th anniversary edition, and then it’s time to cash in again.

Merchandise and More

Alongside the album, a collection of Fever (XXV Edition) merchandise is available. There is a ‘La La La’ ice cube mold, a silver Fever eye mask in a black presentation box and a special edition Camp Snap x Kylie camera. ‘The Fever Kit’ brings together fortune cookies, a thermometer keyring, a fan, a ‘tablet’ t-shirt and a bubble sticker sheet. It’s a never-ending cycle of re-releases and merchandise, and we’re just along for the ride. The remastered phoenix will continue to rise from the ashes, bringing with it a trail of bonus tracks and limited edition vinyl. And we’ll be here, waiting to buy it all again.
