They’re not just at Freddy’s anymore

Okay, hold on to your hats, folks, because Blumhouse, those masterminds behind such cinematic triumphs as… well, some horror movies, is back with Five Nights at Freddy’s 2! 😱 Yes, you read that right, they’re milking this animatronic cow for all it’s worth. Based on the earth-shatteringly popular game series by Scott Cawthon (who, let’s be honest, is probably laughing all the way to the bank), this promises to be a new chapter of… *checks notes* …animatronic terror. Because apparently, the first one wasn’t terrifying enough? Get ready to clutch your pearls, hide under your seats, and question all your life choices! 🤡

One year has passed since the supernatural snooze-fest at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The stories about what transpired there have been twisted into a campy local legend, inspiring the town’s first ever Fazfest. Yes, you heard that right. Fazfest. Like Woodstock, but with more robots and less… well, everything that made Woodstock interesting. 🙄

Former security guard Mike (Josh Hutcherson), still haunted by the experience, and police officer Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail), who apparently hasn’t filed for a transfer yet, have kept the truth from Mike’s 11-year-old sister, Abby (Piper Rubio), concerning the fate of her animatronic “friends.” Because what could possibly go wrong with letting a kid hang out with murderous robots? 🤔

But when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy – because clearly, she didn’t learn her lesson the first time – it will set into motion a terrifying series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy’s, and unleashing a long-forgotten horror hidden away for decades. So, basically, the same plot as every other horror movie ever made. 😴

The cast of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 includes returning co-stars Theodus Crane as Jeremiah and the legendary Matthew Lillard as William Afton. 🌟 Because, let’s be real, who wouldn’t want to see Matthew Lillard screaming at robots? The film features new characters played by Freddy Carter (Shadow and Bone, Pennyworth), Wayne Knight (Jurassic Park, Seinfeld), Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters franchise, Annabelle Comes Home) and horror icon Skeet Ulrich (Scream, Riverdale). So basically, they’re throwing every actor they can find at this thing, hoping something sticks. 🤷‍♀️

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is directed by acclaimed returning filmmaker Emma Tammi and is written by game series creator Scott Cawthon. Acclaimed? Really? I mean, sure, the first one made money, but let’s not pretend it was Citizen Kane. 🎬

The film is produced by Blumhouse founder and CEO Jason Blum and Scott Cawthon, who together produced the first film. Because if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right? Even if “it” is a mediocre horror movie about killer animatronics. The executive producers are director Emma Tammi, Beatriz Sequeira, Christopher Warner, Russell Binder and Marc Mostman. Because apparently, it takes a village to produce a film about killer robots. 🏘️

The first Freddy’s film opened to a record-shattering $80 million in October 2023 and went on to earn almost $300 million worldwide. Proving that people will watch literally anything if you market it right. 🤑

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 hits cinemas on 5th December 2025. Mark your calendars, folks, because you definitely don’t want to miss this cinematic masterpiece! Or, you know, maybe just stay home and watch paint dry. It’s probably more entertaining. 🗓️
